After what happened in Kirkwall and to the Circle, which she had been a member of, Bethany wasn't quite sure if she'd see any of her friends again. Not after they all appeared to go their separate ways. She gladly sits down to join him. Varric appeared shady the first time they met, but she quickly grew attached to him. "Have you heard from my brother? I haven't seen him. Not since Kirkwall. But if you've been in touch with him, it would be a relief." She knows Varric is a good friend and cares about him enough to watch out for him.
