[It's far more than just the war between the Courts that has Tumnus uncomfortable, but Nasrin wouldn't know that. From the faun's standpoint, Narnia had been a kingdom of peace for nearly twenty years; even in the absence of its rulers. He had promised to keep watch since their disappearance back to the land of Spare Oom.

Still, the support and comforting words the elf offers him brings a small smile to his lips and he nods his head.]

I thank y-you, my lady. Having spoken to others, it seems war is one of the things that connects a good many of us. [His smile is wan and he sighs softly.] A pity, that, but something that has made us all stronger, I think. They cannot make me fight their war, but I will be knowledgable in my decision before it is made.

[Then, seeming to realize how he sounds, Tumnus flushes and looks down, lifting a hand to scratch at his horn as his ears twitch.]

Ah, f-forgive me, I t-talk to m-much. [He lifts his gaze to Nasrin again and offers a sheepish smile.] And f-forgive my rudeness, please. [He dips a proper half now at the waist, hooves clicking on the ground.] I am Tumnus, my lady... A simple faun of Narnia.
