Val might trade just about anything to see her sister again. But it's a good thing Jon doesn't mention it. She knows it's impossible, and there's nothing she can trade, in any case.

"Yes, they said that about a shard, but I don't understand. Magic? In me? How can such a thing happen?" She wonders for a moment if it was something that the Red Woman did to them both. "And how would I use it? Are you using magic here, Lord Snow?"

It's a lot of questions, she knows, but Val's entirely out of her element here, and Jon Snow is the only familiar face she sees. She hates to admit being worried or frightened, but she is, a bit. Seeing his face is reassuring, in a way.

Even without the scars. She sees his reaction to her touch, and quickly drops her hands. "Aye, the others." It was the last thing she remembers, before arriving here -- watching the commotion at Castle Black from her tower, hearing the shouts of all the men gathering in the yard, as Jon Snow fell to the ground, bleeding red against so much white. "You're all healed then?"
