[The mud on her face doesn't bother him, they are used to a lifestyle than many. They are as clean as they can be but no afraid to get dirty, to let the blood of their battles linger on their faces. It was just how they were and so he makes no move to push aside the smudge upon her cheek, the look familiar, endearing and simply the way life was. The sounds of the forest though call them, and out of the shock of seeing one another, the intense focus upon one another, the Northman finds himself looking up to sky that breaks through the dense woodland cover, watching the birds jump from one branch to the other before his blue eyes turn to focus back on her own. He can feel the dampness of the forest floor seeping into the clothing of his back but he doesn't mind, the dirt on his elbows, the leaves in the turns and twists of his hair.

Her words make him chuckle once more and give his eyes a small roll skywards before looking back to her with a lidded gaze. Reaching up he took hold of her hand and pulled himself to his feet, dusting off his slacks and tunic before he feels the jab into his torso and the chuckle turns more into a laugh as he makes a move to grab her wrists once more, trying to pull her close and throw her a little off balance but keeping her upright.]

It won't go far. [Came his playful reply before releasing her once more and striding back to his things to pick them up, throwing his shield over his back, quick to return to her side as if this could be a dream, as if when he turned around she would no longer be there.]

Come on then, woman. Get your weapons. [The teasing of his voice was obvious, the smile on his lips matching it, his expression lidded as he shooed at her with the handle of his axe.] Always dragging your feet.
