Height; 6'2" / 188cm Weight; lean; ~150lbs / 68kg Visual; Remus is a tall, lanky looking man, with a friendly face and a mischievous twinkle in his eye at times. He gives off the general sort of 'professor' vibe such that his friends would joke and call him that long before he actually became professor Lupin for real. He has an alarming amount of scarring that he tries to hide with long sleeves and long trousers, although there is some of it that has snuck up his neck and onto his face that he can't really do anything about. Most of it is faded, although the scars themselves are of varying intensity, some pencil thin, some angry - obviously quite the wound back when he first got them. He has a large angry scar on his right shoulder, the most faded of them all, that has been stretched and distorted over the years but is still a clear and visible bite mark - the remnants of Greyback's attack on him, as a young boy.
He has dark brown eyes and soft brown hair, although it is graying at the temples and has been doing so for some time now. The graying is from the stress of the transformation and his everyday life - it first appeared when he was in school, after he nearly lost his life following the Prank, and only got slowly but steadily more pronounced from there. It makes him look much older than the 33 that he is. Still, despite the kindly, professorly face that he generally has, he was and always will be a Marauder, and there's something of that twinkle in him as well, when you can coax it out.
Fashion; Remus is generally prone to dressing rather frumpily, his clothes old, worn, and patchy. He's not used to having a lot of money nor the ability to acquire much money on his own, nor does he really feel comfortable accepting handouts from others, a combination which leads to him getting a lot of items cheap and second-hand. He makes the best of it though, and the look suits him. His normal attire back home featured a lot of sensible cardigans and trousers. Here in the drabwurld he's learned to have to accept some handouts, since he can't live off of what he had brought with him forever, but even what he finds is still mostly the same. Sensible, safe, and reserved. If there's anything that will call attention to him, it's his personality, not his attire.
Demeanour; Remus has a way of moving that's smooth, controlled, and perhaps more deliberate than the normal person would be. Part of that is because sometimes he's doing his best to hide the fact that he's in pain for one reason or another - the moon is waxing and pulling on his bones, the moon is waning and he's coming from a transformation but doesn't want you to know that. The wolf does have a lot to do with his behavior, for where the wolf is chaos, Remus himself strives to be the opposite of that - to prove to everyone that he is the man not the monster within. As such, he is overly pleasant and understanding, to the point of an extreme at times, especially because the wolf is quick to anger and set off. He is patient to the extreme and is generally very quiet, sedentary, and still, again sometimes to mask the fact that within himself he's ready to burst apart at the seams, or perhaps because he really is that relaxed. One would never know which by looking at him unless you truly understood him on a very, very personal level.
Aural; Remus has a very calm, smooth way of speaking that generally does have the effect of drawing the listener in - it was very helpful for when he was teaching. In a conversation with him, it's clear that he is listening and that you matter to him personally, regardless as to what the conversation might be about. His voice is not all that deep, and is not all that melodious either, but he does have a way of drawing the listener in and making them feel appreciated with it that is difficult to otherwise explain.
It is because speaking to Remus is so comforting and rewarding that it is especially jarring when you find yourself in a situation where he is disappointed with you. Basically he's that really great professor you always want to please and have on your good side, and feel ashamed in yourself just for having disappointed - he doesn't need to raise his voice against anyone, he simply has that effect. As for Remus' accent, his mother was Welsh and his parents met in Wales while his father was there on business, so his accent is probably something like the accent from around Worcestershire? (Have a video of some guy doing the accent challenge with said accent, lmao)
Olfactory; Remus doesn't wear any special smells specifically, although he is a modern man so he does bathe on a regular basis and therefore generally smells pretty clean and fresh. He spends a lot of time in libraries doing research and as such generally acquires something of that comforting, musty book smell about him, and because of Padfoot he smells a little bit doggy at times too, but not in a bad way. He likes to do his work outside where and when he can so he can smell like fresh grass and other clean, earthy smells that one would get while sitting on a cleanly groomed lawn with a book in one's lap. There's a little bit of spice in there as well, and a little hint of danger, for those that can smell the wolf on him.
