shijima kurookano | nabari no ou | unseelie
feast; omfg shijima
[ this is just the sort of thing the imps would do!!! and so he watches and waits with a wrinkle between his brow, setting his plate down at a remote corner of the table. his hand snaps out when he sees hers move towards his plate, with the purpose of grabbing her wrist. but whether or not he succeeds, he'll grumble out a warning -- ]
Get your own.
that fish is rightfully hers despite being on your plate connor!!! god
...Since she's a human just now, they're just normal teeth, though her canines are curiously pointed. ]
Plates are human things. [ SHE DOESN'T EAT FROM THEM!!! Just...other people's plates. That is different, apparently? Except not at all. Truthfully, she'd eat from one if someone else gathered it up for her. ...What a spoiled creature. ] I was getting my own.
[ Shijima is aware of manners, but she doesn't let them trouble her, usually. Her eyes - a cat's, yellow - dart back to the fish, then to his hands. Hmm. Might not be worth it. ]
things connor doesn't know: shijima's magical fish-rights!!
Get it somewhere else. [ he catches her eyes, yellow and -- momentarily distracted from guarding his plate because there's something more important that needs to be addressed ]
-- What are you? [ rude as fuq tbh ]
he can clearly take this chance to learn!!
An observer. Shijima Kurookano. What are you? [ also rude as fuck, Connor is in good company. Shijima doesn't even seem to care that he asked...not that she actually answered the question all that well. Stellar conversation skills, both of you. ]
what are the chances of shijima learning table manners instead!!
[ look it's a loaded question for a boy who's mired in identity issues and teenage angst, so he scowls (even though it's literally what he just asked). ]
Human. [ except not really. a half-beat before he reluctantly follows that up ] Connor.
pretty bad tbh...........
Chew. Chew chew. Swallow. The fish is gone. Now she has to wait for another opening...luckily, she's patient. ]
Connor...I've never known one of those before. All right. [ Acceptable. You can be Connor, Connor. ]
prayer circle for kouichi to arrive
...So do you. [ but she doesn't smell undead, so. ] What'd you mean by observer?
kouichi would just cave and get her a plate of food...which would keep her out of trouble admittedly
oh my god yes shijima | feast
which is a mistake because the second he does, she's trying to prey on his food. how the hell she even got to him so quickly is something he'll never be able to figure out. for someone who doesn't look too fast, though, he manages to sidestep out of her way pretty quickly. out of all the places to expect someone to steal his food, here wasn't one of them.]
Watch yourself. There's plenty of food to eat, don't take mine.
i'm so glad people know her
Clearly she will just have to train harder!! Getting her own plate still isn't an option, apparently!! Slouching, she considers Shinjiro, half-curious, half-annoyed. ]
If this old lady managed to grab it, it wouldn't be yours, would it?
[ finders keepers. ]
she's a fab old lady lbr
kind of funny.]
Tch. [he takes a piece of meat from his plate with his fork and hands it to shijima.] If you're so hungry, just ask.
[badass shinjiro needs to make sure young people eat food!!!]
the best of them
She has no utensils. She simply snags the meat with her fingers and eats it like that, licking them as she finishes. ]
Why? I can find food on my own, though many of you children are faster than you look. Perhaps I've gotten too used to granny putting out milk and fish. Ah, well.
no subject
Watch it.
[stealing is stealing, and "finding" food =/= taking someone else's. the look he's giving her is questionable; he doesn't know what she's talking about anymore. who is granny? why should he care about her? what's with this girl and milk, anyway?]
no subject
Watch what?
[ She's so helpful. But at least she's not trying to steal any food this time, although that's mostly because she's waiting to see if the feeding thing repeats itself. ]
no subject
[sorry, shijima. shinjiro is only a good citizen .01% of the time. at least, that's what he likes to make people think.]
You got friends here?
[maybe she does. maybe he can pawn her off to them.]

feast!
[ Growing up in a hive of scum and villainy like Rimmen has taught J'sairr to keep a close eye on his food, after all, so the girl's theft doesn't escape his notice.
Even so... Her face bears no marks or tattoos that he can see, but there's something in her mannerism that reminds him uncannily of the Ohmes. So when he regards her, it's with a look closer to curiosity than anything else. ]
You have a name, yes?
no subject
Not a cat.
How strange. It's halfway like her - a cat, not a cat any longer - and she wonders if he was cursed, too. It's more interesting than the food, so she crouches nearby as she studies him, hands hooked over the edge of the table. ]
What thing doesn't have a name? Not every thing knows the name it has, I suppose. [ Is she going to answer, or...? Well, he's a cat (?) and she's curious as hell about that, so she'll actually bother. She doesn't think it's Tenpenka. It doesn't smell like it, even as she sniffs the air. ]
Shijima Kurookano. What are you? [ Shijima and manners have a tenuous relationship at best. ]
no subject
[ His curiosity only grows. It's obvious by now that she's no Ohmes, which leaves him at something of a loss — there goes any hope of someone from home, after all — but he supposes there's nothing to be done for it except further inquiry. ]
J'sairr had suspected you to be Khajiit as well, but clearly this is not so.
no subject
[ More fur, hear true ears - her eyes are already cat-yellow. But she doesn't change, staying a small girl-child staring at him unblinking. ]
Do Khajiit speak cat? Can you speak to cats, child?
[ That would be useful. She doesn't like to bother with this form when she doesn't have to. Someone to speak to Shijima the cat would be nice. Only Kouichi manages it. Only Akatsuki had, before that. ]
THE STATION
...I suppose you could say that, yes. Truth be told, an old-style train station would be preferable, if you ask me. I'm not terribly fond of the current aesthetic.
RAN
[ /old lady griping...she gets you, Kayneth. Let's gripe about kids these days until the cows come home. ]
Especially with those fluttery things in charge.
[ also fairies have no sense of when enough is enough...but they're fun to chase. ]
LUCY!!!
...no comment on the nice roof, but...]
The aesthetics aren't as good, either. A more open, old style feel would do this place a lot of good...
...and yes, the fairies really could stand to stay out of everyone's business more often. They're occasionally helpful and a bit charming, but they don't really seem to understand boundaries.
!!!!! EVERY EXCLAMATION POINT! i will get kayneth cr watch me
Hm, that wouldn't be bad. I preferred that sort of station as well, I suppose. [ Though she also liked the days without trains just fine. The scent of trains is sharp and metallic and smoky and it's not really a bad smell, entirely, but it isn't her favorite. ]
Ha. I do not care for those imps, either. Little monsters who think they can bite harder than I can.
[ What the hell has she been doing to Unseelie's imps............biting them, apparently. Ah, yes, what a way to endear herself to them. ]
WITH BOTH OF THEM, RIGHT
Rail routes as opposed to road routes really wouldn't hurt, either. I know it couldn't work, but I'd really prefer a mount that isn't, well, one of the horses.
...the imps, though...? I suspect you're Unseelie, then?
yes it is too late for you to escape me
But no, she just tilts her head to the side, curious. ]
Yes. Is that a bad thing? I suppose if you say it like that, you must be from the Seelie court.
[ It sounds like the Seelie court has more sunny spots to sit in, but Shijima doesn't particularly mind where she is.
At least, there isn't any extra minding in addition to being annoyed about being dragged somewhere to begin with. Even if it's a place seen as "evil" by some, that doesn't bother her at all. ]
