That all depends on what you've a taste for. The honey-wine is too sweet for my palette, though I do like the sparkling fizzy wine they have. It has bubbles that tickle the tongue.

[She pointed to a delicate glass decanter that was filled with a light liquid.]

The food here is more directed towards those familiar with humans. The fairies here are... different from those I know.

It has been a very long time since I have tasted the sweetness of mead.

[ He chooses a simple glass, then reads the labels until one has writing that makes sense to him, and pours some of the red-gold liquid into the selected container. ]

Human food. I suppose some of it is edible, though they aren't very good at using herbs.

Likely as not because they barely have the sense of taste and smell that others do. I'm not certain as to your limits, but humans can't seem to hear the whispers of the trees or smell rain before it comes. It's not surprising they have to use too much of any one thing to get its taste.

My people are connected to the earth. Listening to Her song is second nature to us.

[ Well, it's a little more technical and complicated than that, but the explanation will do for now. ]

But your point is taken.

Nature's voice is something they seem to have turned their ears from. A sad fate for them, then.

[This from the fairy who went around healing trees. Yes, she was attuned to the land around her, enough so back home that her moods could affect them without her knowing.]

It is a sad fate for anyone, my lady.

[ This from the prince of elfland, who exiled himself on purposes. ]

So, now that you are here, what will you do? Will you pick up the cause these kings and queens say we must? Or shall you do something of your own volition?

I have not decided. For now, I intend to learn how things work.

That seems wise. Better than the rashness of running in uninformed.
