[ Thinking Shijima is a kid is an acceptable mistake - she does look like one. And she doesn't really take offense. ]

A glamour charm? So your shape didn't truly change, it just appeared to?

[ INTERESTING. It's different than how she manages things. The form she's wearing now, of a girl, is a shapeshift; were she in her natural state, she'd be a cat. ]

Aah, no -- it's more than the looks that change, but -- it's still not "real", you know? And it ain't perfect all the time, either. Still -- it's mostly just for keepin' up appearances. [A shrug, and a quick look aside - it isn't Shijima she's shrugging over, after all! And a look back on her.]

Why? [Ain't really pressing anything - it's more "why not attempt to carry on conversation", especially with factors and allusions already in-place.]

Appearances are annoying, aren't they? Humans are so picky.

No one minds my usual form generally. But it's inconvenient if I wish to speak with humans.

Not for human speech. I suppose I could attempt to shift to something inbetween, but that would frighten the humans.

[ they're easily startled, she thinks. ]

And they do not understand animal speech.

Shijima Kurookano. What is your name?

[ She doesn't seem to care about being called a kid, even if it's inaccurate...but then, Shijima is a little harder to offend than that, even if she's easily annoyed. Depending on her mood.

[And Holly hasn't pinned down exactly what Shijima is nor that "kid" would be technically inaccurate (not that it's stopped her before; with as long as Fables live and as it's only a secondary factor in apparent age, it's all how you wear it. Holly doesn't look, feel, or carry herself like a spring chicken; she'll assume right when it strikes her to use "kid" unless anything pops up to overturn it.]

So... Shijima, right? [Just checking she heard that first and last name correctly - it's not exactly still here.] You get here the same way? Imps draggin' you by the hair, or - tail, maybe, through tunnels to god-knows-where, or did you enlist in this -- war of theirs?

[Inflected not like it actually carries a question mark - and no, it's not a serious question. Just trying to keep the ball rolling and with as much control as she can sort of spit at this whole unwanted B.S. state of affairs.]

[ Not because she's a pacifist, but because she absolutely does not give a fuck about other people's problems, generally...

You have to be some kind of special to get her to actually sympathize. And even more special to get her to actually do something about your issues. ]
