Arwen | Tolkien/LOTR | Seelie
There is so much she's still uncertain of... She longs for a familiar face, uneasy being separated from her family and love - especially in a worn-torn land. She understood their need for assistance, though she couldn't fully agree with their choice in her. There were far more valiant warriors and leaders in her land -- those that would be a great asset to such turmoil. She sits, watching the revelry unfold around her as she attempts to keep the sadness at bay. There's a stillness to her posture, an unspoken elegance that reflects on her upbringing.
She has a warm smile for any who approach, soft and inviting, though she does not go out of her way at first to introduce herself - keen blue eyes continuing to scan the gathering for another from home.
✦Wildcard - Visiting Eaglais✦
Arwen slowly moves through the forest of Breagha - intrigued by the Eaglais she's heard whispers of. Her steps are light and silent, taking the time to stop here and there to revel in the majesty of the trees. The only sound one might hear is the rustle of her dress as it moves with her. There's a peace here that calls to her, reminiscent of home. She's not sure how long she lingers beneath the boughs of Eaglais, just listening to the sounds of the forest, feeling the history of the place beneath her feet and fingers.

Her heart feels like it's skipped a beat and she's suddenly breathless. Not Arwen. Not her daughter. (And suddenly she thinks this must be how Galadriel had felt when she had seen her during their first welcome feast.)]
Arwen... my dear heart.

Mother...
[She hesitates when she finally reaches her, as if she is but an illusion that will disappear with the first touch.]
no subject
I am here, pinig.
[She reaches, lightly caressing Arwen's cheek before pulling her into her arms and hugs her tightly.]
no subject
I have missed you so much.

[She practically clings to her daughter, savoring the moment. Between them, just for a little while, the war between the Seelie and Unseelie doesn't have to exist. It's just mother and daughter.] There has never been a day that has gone by that I have not missed you, that I have not wondered if there was some way we could have found for me to stay.

She looks like Luthien murmurs Curufin in his ears.
No Maedhros whispers She looks like Elrond.
"Lady." He says quietly, and sketches a bow from where he sits. "Your pardon. I did not realise I had company."

She has no intention to linger, knowing her mother and grandmother await her return, though slight curiosity holds her steady.

"Then I am sorry to interrupt your wanderings lady, but not overly so, if it brings such beauty to my eyes." He does not give his name - but then, he always figures the star is warning and introduction enough.

"It warms my heart to see you."

She worries, of course. This place is not kind. It is not safe and that is not where any woman wishes to see her grandchild. But Galadriel thought that they had said their last goodbyes, so, despite everything, she can't help but be grateful for this reunion.
"Though it troubles my heart also; you have had so little time to enjoy your peace."

"It is quite alright. We are together." Her mother is here. That alone is reason enough for her to have strongly mixed feelings about her time here.

But there is also anger with the monarchs for ensnaring more yet of those dear to his heart, for the moment, however, he puts it aside to bask instead in the company.
"I rejoice and grieve both to see you here," Legolas says a moment lasting no longer than a blink of an eye, his gauntlet-clad hands most gentle on her delicate wrists, his smile reflecting the very same emotions he speaks of, "Rejoice selfishly to see you, and grieve for this world, while beautiful, has more suffering to offer than happiness to all brought into it."
Out of the many, he would know it best. Thought he marks are hidden beneath soft leathers and smooth armour plates, and his hair grown out once more, longer than it has ever been, the phantom pains still follow him everywhere he goes, running along the lines of scars.

Her head dips slightly at his words, difficult to not agree with his sentiments. "Please do not let grief weigh on your heart mellon nin. Let us rejoice in the reunion, for it warms my heart to see you again." It is a gift, much like the chance to see her mother - a chance she'd believed lost forever. The cost may be high, but there would be no truth to her saying she wouldn't pay it again. She was no stranger to life-altering decisions, though she had no hand in this one.
She gives him a thoughtful look, keen eyes searching him for something unseen... Signs of the suffering he speaks of - a burden she can attempt to lighten.

"Then we shall cast aside all the shadows of Drabwurld, so that nothing may mar this moment!" His smile is bright, what may have clouded his gaze gone. Though there is still more care in his motions now, more awareness of those around them with unusual hints of distrust, even if this is the Seelie Court and they should, in theory, be surrounded by folk honourable and kind. Legolas knows better now than to trust this division, what with Tauriel having found herself in the Unseelie, and all that has happened already. "Please tell me all! How you came to be here, have you spoken with any here already?"
Slowly, Legolas releases Arwen's hands, motioning back to the seat he stole her from. "The food here, if nothing else, is safe to eat and plenty tasty, if my memory serves me right."
Still trying to nail down a canon point for her - trying before the wedding :D
"I'm still not sure how I came to be here. I was moving through the forests of Imladris, observing the growing shadow when the forest was no longer my own. It was the strangest magic I have ever experienced..." Her smile saddens slightly, breaking her gaze from his for a moment. "My mother - I saw my mother." She's still attempting to wrap her mind around that - around everything here. "And my grandmother..." She reaches for his hands again. "And now you. There is a comfort in not being alone in such a strange land."
ooooh! he's 90 years after sailing sobs
"Both your mother and grandmother have been here since the day I came as well," but no trial could overshadow his brightness, no suffering could truly deprive him of his brightness, as that's something that lies in his very nature. And so he smiles, offering what more comfort he may with words, and with gentle touch to her hands, "They have been great help to many folk coming from Middle Earth and... terrible as the place may be, I am certain they will love to have you at their side once more."
If for no other reason that... it will only be possible here, after a time, what with the choice Arwen made in her life.
so much sobbing
Banquet
Arwen... {It takes him only several quick strides to reach her. He stares at her imploringly, pain shining in his eyes.}
Mi van me? {"Where are we?"} I do not recognize this land nor do I recall bringing myself here willingly.
{His hands lift, almost as if he wants to touch her - caress her - but he's scared. If he's destined to lose her...
If she dies because of his failure...
It breaks his heart.}
/flails excitedly
I do not know how I came to be here, though from what I've learned in my brief time this place is called the Drabwurld.
[Her eyes drift to his hands, his actions mirroring her own hesitations - still unsure that this isn't some elaborate dream. She studies his face for a long moment - the pain, the fear. It's enough to push her forward, needing to provide some form of comfort, something to assist in easing his burden - if only for a moment.
She gently brushes his cheek with her hand, a single tear slipping out.]
I have missed you so much meleth nín... ["my love"]
/handcuffs self to ouo
She's the same. Her life isn't leaving her. He has time to see the war through.
With a smile, he covers her hand with his own and turns his head to kiss her palm.}
I feared I would never lay eyes on you after Lord Elrond informed me of your fate. {His free hand seeks out her cheek, stroking the soft skin with his thumb.} I fight for you. No matter where you go, I will do all in my power to bring an end to the darkness.
{He is aware there are other choices for her. The selfless part of him prays she will travel with the other Elves and live, yet he is a man. There isn't a day he doesn't miss her - and he knows that ache will continue even if the war ends.}
yes good :D (hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii I'm Emily)
My place is by your side.
[She does not doubt his words, instead meeting his smile with one of her own. She moves to rest her forehead against his, eyes drifting shut for a moment.]
When you departed Rivendell, my heart was in your safe keeping. It, and my love, have been with you always. Nothing could sway me from my choice.
[Her path was that of Lúthien and none, not even her own father nor the chill of the growing darkness could cause her to stray from it.]
Nice to meet you! I'm Riddle. :3
