[Waver's eyes follow Maglor's, and he groans.]

Good lord I hate this ridiculous tradition. All due respect to the kind offer, which I will take you up on.

[ dryly ] We did not have it in my world - I had to be freed by another who himself learnt of the tradition by being trapped.

Depending on how... enthusiastic the magic is feeling, perhaps we can escape without anything major?

[ Because uh. Kissing Waver who is almost sorta his patron???? But yeah Maglor will step close enough to lean in and brush a kiss across Waver's cheek. MAYBE THAT WILL BE ENOUGH? ]

Well, at least you understand the awkwardness.

[And--time to see if it'll work. Waver takes an experimental step forward, in hope.]

[ Waver walks free and Maglor breathes a sigh of relief... only to find that he cannot move. ]

Very, very particular. I do hope it will not proceed to trap you again in turn. Perhaps you could leave me here? I am sure it will not keep it up indefinitely. [ He hopes ]

I tell you what. I'll try and get you out, and if I get stuck in return, then we find a way to set the thing on fire.

If you do not mind? [ Maglor nods gratefully. He could stand here for hours but he'd much rather not ]

[It's been a few years since he's dated. But, the kiss is had, with very gentle pressure and okay, Waver is definitely bright red.]

[ It has been some five hundred years for Maglor, so Waver has one up on him there! He returns it, tipping his head just so to make it easier, but he keeps it light and chaste and lets Waver decide the length of time. He kindly does not mention the blush but takes an experimental step forward when done ]
