I have so many Theories (as does anyone that reads ASoIF) as to what events foreshadow other events and I've always believed that the fates of the direwolves reflect the fates of the Stark children and that had Lady not been killed when she was, that Sansa would never have survived King's Landing as it was as if the Stark in her 'died' with Lady.

i have a lot of very similar thoughts! i do think sansa will over time try and recapture some of that starkness (the moment with the snow-winterfell being so very telling in my mind) but yeah. i agree. lady's death severed her just enough from that identity that the rest followed hard upon the heels.

I kind of hope she reclaims it by killing Littlefinger (as much as I love him as a character) in a moment of I'M NOT MY MOTHER, I'M A STARK moment.
