"Why drink human soporifics if they are usually so very bad? I assume that's bad, anyway! I don't know what a nug is." The responding voice comes from a cheerful girl who sounds fairly young - sixteen, at most. She doesn't seem to mind the surroundings, but takes them in with avid, open interest, a bright painted-red smile on her face. Nearly as red as the loose pajama-like clothes she's clad in.

Though she isn't one, she probably calls to mind the Qunari easily enough, with gray skin and curled horns. The red fairy wings that seem to be real, fluttering even as she slides onto a stool, definitely aren't that, though. Aradia tilts her head to one side, curls falling over her shoulder, and goes on. "Are these human soporifics? Or are they something else soporifics?"

He gave her a once over and thought about the use of soporifics. Anyone else he knew would probably have been confused. Not Varric. Still, whatever she was, she wasn't exactly Qunari. Whatever else he knew about this place, he knew it wasn't home.

"It's human enough, twinkles. And I'm glad for that. They know how to make the good stuff. It's just they can't always be bothered."

"Aradia Megido!" The troll supplies, happily enough. She doesn't mind "twinkles" and doesn't protest it, but it seems polite to offer up her name. She probably ought to have done it to start with, but it has been a fairly long time since she's had to speak to anyone who hasn't known who she was.

Or who hasn't been able to tell she was a Megido, at least. It's nice to meet new people again.

"I've never tried any. Is it okay to try the bad sort first, or should I wait until I find the good sort?"

"That's a subject of scholarly debate. On one hand, if you start with the good stuff, you'll never be able to stomach the bad. But if you start with the bad, you might never give the good a chance." Varric lifted the tankard and quaffed it down and considered his opinion on the matter. "But this stuff is somewhere in the middle. You can't go wrong with that."
