Being somewhat conscripted into a war? I was...offered a chance to change things in my world. I can't say I had much of a choice, though I did agree to it.
[ Had she not, she might have been hunted down, believed to be a murderer. She takes a sip of her glass. ]
Things spiraled from there. But I can at least say we didn't have fairies where I am from.

Claire. ( Should she say more than that? She doesn't often do introductions, or do well at them when she has. There's a pause, a breath before she does say more - but this time on the topic ) We only have fairies in stories, and they were never real.
( Not unless Topher ever decided to make anyone believe that they were a fairy, but even she believed that he had limits as to what he'd do. Programming someone that way would make them more likely to be seen as crazy, and they'd lose an asset )
Could you change things? Or was that just a hope that they wanted you to believe?

I...I hope I was changing things. I believe I was. But I am not what people want to believe I am. [ She shrugs, as though it does not bother her, but the set of her jaw says it is a more delicate matter than some may think. ] I'm simply a person. I can only do so much with what I have.

What do they believe you are?
