He shifts slightly beneath her gaze, worries he has spoken out of turn. He knew the royalty of his world and his place, but this change in surroundings has turned everything he knows upside down.
It's her gentle smile that sets him at ease; at least for the moment. He makes a soft sound in the back of his throat, though he nods.]
It is r-rather a human game to do so, though the sovereigns of my own land ask n-nothing of the people that they themselves would not participate. [He gestures with his chin to those milling around, his stutter fading as his nerves settle.]
Particularly in this manner... I cannot imagine not attending festivities when you have summoned others from their own world. I think it would be absolutely best to be seen and offer personal word and advice to they you have brought.
P-particularly in regards to f-fighting their w-war. [Tumnus wasn't at all pleased to have been brought to a world on the brink of war after so soon recovering from one himself.] S-some of us h-have had more than our share of w-w-war.

But she likes war as much as she does, and so Nasrin nods, relaxing her shoulders slightly. He seems distressed enough that she doesn't want to add to it. ]
I couldn't agree more.
[ It's said softly, just enough to pass between them that her voice might not carry. ]
I'm sorry they have summoned you here. This must be hard on you, to be away from your home and to be thrown into a conflict that is not your own. I...cannot offer you much, nor do I know you, but I would not allow them to harm you or conscript you to do something that you are not willing for.
No monarch should order things of their people when they cannot agree to them.

Only, there was no keeping watch while he was here.
Still, the support and comforting words the elf offers him brings a small smile to his lips and he nods his head.]
I thank y-you, my lady. Having spoken to others, it seems war is one of the things that connects a good many of us. [His smile is wan and he sighs softly.] A pity, that, but something that has made us all stronger, I think. They cannot make me fight their war, but I will be knowledgable in my decision before it is made.
[Then, seeming to realize how he sounds, Tumnus flushes and looks down, lifting a hand to scratch at his horn as his ears twitch.]
Ah, f-forgive me, I t-talk to m-much. [He lifts his gaze to Nasrin again and offers a sheepish smile.] And f-forgive my rudeness, please. [He dips a proper half now at the waist, hooves clicking on the ground.] I am Tumnus, my lady... A simple faun of Narnia.

[ And, sadly, she can see how his heart might be what drew him to the Seelie, to their war. He is all the stronger for his words, his heart determined and valiant. Were they in Thedas, she would ask him to join the Inquisition, to lend his talents and his words, even if only as an agent and never as a soldier.
The thought perturbs her, and she knows beyond a shadow of a doubt now that the Inquisition and the war has changed her beyond all reckoning.
Her smile hardly falters and she shakes her head, holding up a hand. ]
No, no. I would prefer to let others speak, frankly. You haven't been rude at all. But please, my name is Nasrin. I am no lady. [ And she will keep her title a secret for as long as she may. ] I am an elf from Thedas.
