Cesare Borgia | The Borgias | Unseelie
(The Feast)
[Cesare is nursing a glass of wine, limbs relaxed, leaning into the back of his chair when he spots someone that he does not like. They look all too calm, too confident, too at home for his liking. It seems odd. To say that Cesare had been unhappy with being captured and transported against his will would be an understatement, but he had calmed down, at least somewhat, his brief but furious rage shifting into a silent focus as he decided that he was going to find out the best tactic in this place. He needs to get back to Rome. He has a kingdom to seize.
He follows the person, calmly slinking in behind them, not hiding but certainly not making a show of himself either until he puts a firm hand around their elbow and leans in against their ear, speaking, his voice low.
Tell me: what do you know that I do not?
no subject
He might only have one working arm (since the metal once doesn't function outside of the Station, it's kept in a sling everywhere else), but that doesn't mean anyone gets to try to sneak up on him and corner him.
He grabs the stranger's hand and twists it around behind the man's back, slamming him up against the wall.]
I know you'll die if you do that again.
no subject
Jesus Christ. If we were in Rome, I would hire you this instant.

He snorts derisively at the comment.]
Not available.

the touch makes her frown, brow crinkling. this is interesting. still, she'd like to think she has the upper hand, so she stops entirely, turning to face him. personal space is not usually an issue, except he's new and uninvited.]
Get off.
[her tone is as firm as his touch, but her expression counters it; her eyes are relaxed and there is a small upward tug of her lips.]
no subject
He is still a gentleman, though, and as such he lets go of her arm, letting his hand fall to his side. This girl isn't a threat, he thinks. Suspicious? Yes. Interesting? Most definitely. But he can talk to her without having to guard himself against her trying to stab him in the neck.
He doesn't look away when he speaks to her, his gaze steady, confident and calm.]
What is your name?
no subject
Effy. [she glances in the direction of the great doors to the halls, not bothering to ask his name in return,] Library's got better answers than most people here.
[her eyes find his again. she's scouted that library too many times to count. if he wants answers, he's going to need to be more specific.]
no subject
He pushes a hand to her hip, slowly moving her so that he can lean on the wall, arm resting calmly above her head as he looks down at her. He's not flirting with her, not deliberately, but he is a man of powerful body language and intimidating leans. It's difficult for him not to use them now.]
And what of you? What of your answers?
oof im gross late
Depends.
[she enjoys prolonging odd moments like these; having the upper hand always feels good.]
Got to be specific, and anyway-- what time are you from?
[because that matters a lot.]
