I wasn't the one who came up with the name.

[ He manages to say that in a defensive enough tone to maybe imply that he counts among the metahuman group. He likes it, don't get him wrong but he also keeps his identity as the Flash a secret. Something he doesn't quite know how not to do here. ]

That seems like it'd be an insult. I mean— I'm assuming it's because your genes are mutated, right? Most people hear the word mutated and don't think nice things. Even though mutations can be pretty harmless.

[ Barry. Shut. Up. ]

Which is why humans seek to kill us.

[ Okay, it's a little bit more complicated than that, but Erik knows that's what it burns down to. Genetic mutations that the humans loathe and, so, they torture and experiment on his kind. It's a one plus one equals two situation in his mind and it's enough for him. His voice is more stern, now, and he's careful as he continues. ]

We are the next step in evolution, a mutated form of humanity. That is why we're called mutants, and we are proud of it.

[ Most of them, anyway. And, come on, mutant is cooler sounding than metahuman. ]

[ Well that escalated quickly. ]

You sure it's all humans who want to do that? Because that's a pretty broad generalization.

[ Extremely broad generalization. Admittedly it also makes Barry concerned about what will happen when metahumans get out in his own world. But hey, maybe he shouldn't think about that for too long because that way lies thoughts he doesn't feel like indulging. ]

And that's very good for you guys. [ Barry. ] Methumans aren't— We were human a year ago. And through a set of circumstances, managed to become mutated forms of humanity. It's not— it's a little different.

[ Never mind that he said we. Way to blow your own cover, doofus. ]

[ Did you mean: Magneto in a nutshell. ]

The majority that I have met either want to use my kind, imprison them or experiment upon them.

[ It is a broad generalisation, true, but in Erik's experience it has been nothing more than proven to be correct. Even the CIA had ridiculed and tormented the mutants that it had wanted to fight a war for them; the soldiers on the beach more than happy to wipe them off the face of the Earth for doing nothing more than protecting their precious planet.

They were fools, the lot of them. ]

So your powers are not yours by birth. You were given them. [ A different kind of mutation, but enough that it separates them from what he considers to be homo superior. ] Interesting.
