[A faun. A proper, Narnian faun. Caspian's equally relieved, which probably shows in his smile.]

I am King Caspian. Tenth of that name. And tell me, good faun, what is yours?

[Relief turns to confusion, for though Tumnus knew of other worlds, he knew of no such name.]

I am called Tumnus, majesty... Only I am confused... [Tumnus' brows knit together and he worries his hands over the end of his scarf.]

I do not know a King Caspian... Narnia has monarchs, y-yes, but they are four and not one. Two Sons of Adam and Two Daughters of Eve... Kings Peter and Edmund and Queens Susan and Lucy. [Tumnus knew the Pevensie's well, having served at their sides forrr than fifteen years before their disappearance.]

[Caspian's smile, on the other hand, grows even brighter, at the mention of the Pevensies.]

Oh, yes, I know them too. The Kings and Queens of Old! They were the ones who helped me win my throne. [He pauses thoughtfully.] Tumnus... I believe they mentioned you. You were a great friend of Queen Lucy.

[Time and travel between world can be very confusing, Tumnus, sorry.]

[The young king seems unbothered by Tumnus' words and the faun is uncertain if this is good or bad, truth told. He's not really sure what to make of it all, but Caspian mentions the Pevensie's and Tumnus' ears flick forward, his attention fully captured.]

Y-you know them?! B-but h-how is tha- [He trails off, because if he was here now, who was to say that the children mightn't have been there then? Timey Wimey shenanigans, son! Let's not consider that Tumnus won't see them again on his own timeline until they were all dead. (Save for Susan and Peter)

And then his expression both softens and warms.]

Y-yes... I w-was. [There is sadness there. He missed her keenly. He searches Caspian's face.] W-was she well?? Lucy?

[Caspian can see the confused expression on Tumnus' face, and he tries to clear that up a little.] You see, I'm from, well, I guess from the future of Narnia? The High King and his kin were legends of the past in my time. And my uncle tried to steal my throne and the Narnians and I needed help, so I sounded Queen Susan's horn, and they appeared to give aid. They helped me defeat my uncle and take back Narnia.

[Maybe that would help? Even as he says it, Caspian's not sure it's any less confusing. But his smile grows warm when he speaks of Lucy.]

She was very well. And very brave. And she gave me excellent advice on ruling Narnia. I only wish... she could have stayed. [Lucy and the others as well. It was lonely after they'd gone.]
