Tarrant Hightopp (Mad Hatter) | Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton) | Court Undecided
[feel free to run into the hatter anywhere.]
let's go with the station
Thankfully, they were minor and something that Alice was used to. She didn't care to vest herself too much into them, not unless it involved honing in on her shard. She only willfully let it intermingle then, she let the world blur together.
So it wasn't that unusual for her to see that colorful figure. Except that it does have Alice literally stopping in her tracks, turning around to look. Something was familiar, that mismatched clothing, the wild hair. It wasn't exactly how she remembered the Mad Hatter now. Alice was just on route to bring back sewing supplies, but that would have to wait. Tentatively, Alice follows. It's not the white rabbit, but it's exactly how she remembered him, almost.
Before the fire, when she was young and innocent. Wonderland was pure back then. Either this was a terrible hallucination or someone with poor fashion sense. The latter being unlikely. She was stressed and Wonderland was a reflection of that. Dark-haired, but still in the trademark blue pinafore dress and a white apron, Alice toddles after him. It really couldn't be, "... Hatter?"

And it was Alice, at least it had felt like Alice. But she was awfully small and there was something quite different about her. Still Alice was Alice and hatter would know Alice no matter where. Or was this Alice.
"Ah there you are, you're terribly hard to find you know. I was afraid you would have already forgotten me."
Don't mind as he leans over and looks a little closer.

Just as she had done in her youth, she gives him a weird look, nearly doubling over at the fact it isn't the same mechanic being that lived in Wonderland now. After all he did to the Skool, insane children, and his old friends. His realm was in ruins and yet had an air of organization. "How can I?"
Alice trails off, looking him over head to toe. Of course, Alice being Alice sees this as another hallucination of her own mind. Something of Wonderland in this facet is of it's pure essence, not something Drabwurld threw in. It takes a bit to take in, she can breathe again after settling her heart. "Why, the last I saw of you, you were drowning in tea with the March Hare and Dormy!"
It feels oddly secure to speak so openly of any members of his tea party and yet so... off. Not whole. Alice makes a gesture, "But you... you look like how I remembered you!" What just happened? Did destroying the Infernal Train do this? But if that was the case, parts of Wonderland would be whole. And Alice would be the first to say that Queensland is the same. Then there was the Vale of Tears. "I didn't realize you were looking for me."

Well there had been quite a lot of tea after the white queen once again worn the crown, though he wasn't quite sure who dormy was. Had Alice decided to rename Maliumpkin? Straightening up once Alice took the step back he laughed for a moment.
"After Alice left I had a terribly mad idea, since Alice wouldn't stay I'd go with Alice. Though since Alice, err you, had already left I hadn't the foggiest where to go. Then one of the teapots simply lept off the table and I followed it here."
Well there had been quite a bit more to it than that but it was certainly all the important parts right. And all that mattered really was that here was Alice and that she remembered them.
"Is this what you had to do?"
no subject
Sadly, this sounds exactly like something she would say and Alice's frown persists. "I saved Wonderland, Hatter," It comes easy enough to say. No more Jabberwocks or Dollmakers. Or tyrannical queens. Alice does something a little uncharacteristic for herself, she reaches for a hand, just a ghost of a touch. For all that has happened and the pain she endured, any image of Wonderland she embraces, "It's fine, see? Everything is safe. But you look exactly how I remember you! When I was a little girl."
As much it bothers her to say it, she says it, "I'm glad to see you again."
All of Wonderland's normally placid residents were after her blood a year ago. Not today, apparently. Alice lets out a relieved sigh; she still believes this to be of her own mind, but she takes to Hatter like an old friend. He was an old friend. "Oh, for goodness sake, Hatter, followed a teapot, you say? Well, it's a good thing that you did! Otherwise, you wouldn't have found me."
no subject
The hatter smiles a little with the touch though he does seem a little puzzled. Alice had been rather releaved after slaying the Jabberwock but now she seemed to be worried. It was a little awkward and he tried to think for a moment of what to say when she spoke the second time.
"Ah yes of course it's good to see Alice again too so soon. I thought it would take longer given how late you were."
And all was as it should be in that instant.
"Of course, I had known that tea could put a spring in ones step but not that it would step away and spring up on its own legs. A dish had already run off with a spoon and we were just changing places for clean cups when it happened."
no subject
"Come on, then," She decides that staying her any longer may exasperate the situation and that more will follow along side the Hatter.
Little does she know that's not always the case, "You won't have to wait on me any longer."
no subject
And follow he did of course, a few steps behind her and still picking up odd things here and there and looking at them. Occasionally laughing at some of the residents that passed by.
"As long as it's for Alice I'd wait however long it took. Though since there's no more waiting we simply must get started."
no subject
Back then, Alice had no patience for it, she eventually weaseled her way out of the party altogether only to see their ridiculous testimony to the Queen of Hearts. While on the way, Alice has to scold him, the whole reunion becoming an all too familiar scenario for Alice from her youth, "Oh, leave it! We'll come back for it later!"
Maybe. If she felt like it, if her mood was about right, "Who wouldn't come to tea?" It couldn't be the March Hare or Dormy -- at least, if they're still alive and not machinery. "Let me guess -- get started for tea?"
no subject
Though how the cups got clean given they were outside, or how simply moving down a seat made the cups clean was certainly a question worth not asking. As for who wouldn't come to tea.
"Time of course, he still goes on about the time the red queen accused me of murdering time. Ah you're ready to have tea finally, very well but where's the table, and we'll need a teapot too. The one I was following ran off."
