Are you a lost soul looking for the familiar then?

[Which, while he wasn't, being in the ruins of some ancient place was more like home then a proper castle. He's lived longer than most, and the men of Arthur's knights were more what he was used to than Uther's court, even if he liked to meddle.

He takes a step up closer to her as he talks, hands hidden from view.

I have never been lost.

[ There is a foolish hope that sits in her chest, twisting and turning and begging to be fulfilled. If she could find what she seeks she could return to Skyhold, to her sun, to the Inquisition and the task needed to be fulfilled. But she is not blind, the chance is she will search for years and find nothing. ]

There are many ways to be lost, I truly doubt you never have been.

[He says it casually, waving a hand at he now as he takes another step up. He knows what it's like to be lost, but he's always found his way back to his task, his mission, his duty or (now at least where he'll admit it only to himself) to Igraine. He has a path to follow now, he's just on a side trip to get back to it.]

And you are welcome to such doubts, but you are wrong.

[ She is firm in this, perhaps a little stubborn, Morrigan has always been such and her stance will not move. His incline ceases her descent, deciding she would rather he approach her than she go down to meet him. This man, whoever he is, is unlike most she has encountered before. Power swelled around him, like the magic the dances in the air, old and sharp. ]

[He continues the ascent until he's standing before her, one foot on the same step as her. He's not afraid, is what he's projecting even if he is curious about her skills and what she'll do which is in itself, worrisome. Worry and fear are two very different things in his mind however, which is why he's so bold. She has power, of what nature he's unsure of, but it makes him draw parallels to home and Morgan and it causes him to keep his hand out, near her staff to push it away.]

I've been wrong before, but how the heart works and how people are, I never am. Though you are free to doubt me, it will be at your loss.
astutes: (I'm not done yet)

[ She needn't her staff to do him harm, but he does not need to know that, she keeps herself in such a way that it is difficult to discern her intentions. Subconsciously she reaches out to strum the Veil, only to find it missing, though her magic still responds invisible lines arcing towards her fingers. Either way she will be ready if the need to defend herself arises.

Morrigan laugh, head cocking slightly. ]

You now claim to know my heart? 'Tis utter nonsense. [ Her eyes narrow though her smile remains, a spider in her web eying the prize that delivers itself to her feet. ] You could not know me nor my heart, even if you studied me for a hundred years.
