So it's a wild-eyed Highlander that abruptly pops out from the brush - but the moment he spots her, he stops a good few feet away from her. Elf or no, she's very clearly a woman, and he's never fought with a woman in his life. Not physically, anyway, and he's not about to start now, if he can help it. He can - and does - scowl at her, though, mouth pulled off to one side in a rather irritated manner, completely ignoring the fact that he's currently covered in bits of twigs and leaves thanks to his unexpected dive earlier.]
Hey! What was that for?
yay awesome c:
He's certainly no bandit or guard, she'll give him that. He looks-- Well, practically harmless. The grip on her staff loosens and she sets it on the ground, watching him. ]
Forgive me, I didn't mean-- I thought you were following me.
no subject
The apology goes a long way towards calming him down, though. As she sets the staff down, his expression smooths out, the scowl vanishing altogether. He still keeps his distance, but now it's mostly due to the fact that he's starting to figure out what's likely happened here.]
Aye, well, that's alright, then. Ah...to be fair, I'd not realized I'd come near your camp, or I'd have said something sooner. I suppose I can't say as I blame ye for thinking something was sneaking up because of that. I'm sorry for that. Should we start over, maybe?
