ikols: WHEN I WALKED INNNN (OOOOH YOU KNEW I WAS TROUBLE)

we r doin this

Teddy! [ Honestly he expected Billy to make an appearance first, but Loki isn't complaining. He slips through the crowd (ignoring a wealth of internal twisting as he buries and re-buries the guilt, since this qualifies as something of an emergency) and holds out a hand to flag him down. ] Did they really bring you here like that? They dragged me in, too.

[ And Loki weighs a fuckton, as we all know. Hey, let's be super casual about this!! ]

All alone?

[ Like the answer isn't obvious. ]

hella hella

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-05 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh no, thinks. Oh no no no. Maybe he can slip away, pretending he didn't hear, maybe if he's fast --

But he's not, of course, because before he knows it Loki is all over him. Why this?

Dryly:]

Really? They got a sack over your head?

[Not as surprising as you would think, actually. He thinks about lying, but that would work for maybe five minutes.]

Yeah. It's just me.
ikols: dressing up fox (you are the son of every)

[personal profile] ikols 2015-01-05 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ Teddy, noooo. ]

They were very insistent. [ They totally got a sack over his head, yes, let's not delve into details. ] I went to the Seelie castle, hitched a ride with a teleporter. It's far nicer down south, we should go. Also there's a fairy-ring around something called the Station where the dimensional fabric is weaker between realms, I was going to check it out.

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-05 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Are we allowed to do that? They are sort of at war.

[You'd think he'd be more open to the idea given his parentage and his life in general dating Billy 'bad decisions' Kaplan. ]

The Station sounds doable, though. A lot less like we'll be on a scale ranging from 'lifetime imprisonment' to 'public execution for trespassing'.

[lord help him, he's doing this. he's going on a road trip with Loki.]

Wait, did you come alone too? You didn't ditch America or Kate did you?
ikols: of reality (woke up on the wrong side)

[personal profile] ikols 2015-01-05 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't arrive waving an Unseelie banner and decrying enemy rights with a foghorn as I kicked stray orphans in the teeth along the streets.

[ Give him some credit, Teddy, he has an invisibility coat and, you know, is him. He stills when asked him about the girls, giving him a hesitant look. ]

No, I didn't. [ Technically, he hasn't really seen them for a year. He couldn't ditch them. ] What's the last thing you remember from our reality?

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-05 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
The party.

[This sounds like it's going to give Teddy a headache. He frowns.]

What's the last thing you remember?
ikols: (my net worth is ridic)

[personal profile] ikols 2015-01-05 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[ The party that mattered, is how Loki hears it. Ah. ]

As the good Doctor would put it, timey-wimey shenanigans are afoot. I'm from a year after in Manhattan, I wasn't anywhere near America or Kate.

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-05 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[A year after, which also means no David. There is an awkward, relieved sag of his shoulders. There's one awkward encounter to avoid. A year, though. A year; Teddy wonders, briefly, if Loki's been avoiding them for a year. He wonders if he should really care (is it petty, to be mad? Is it bad to hold a grudge?)

He raised an eyebrow. He cares, a little bit. Teddy wishes things could be simple.]

A year, huh. You stuck around. We weren't sure where you would go.

[Or where he could go. Frown frown frown.]
ikols: do you really look good naked (i'm frustrated)

[personal profile] ikols 2015-01-05 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I had things to do. I have things to do. I can't always grace you with my presence, Teddy Altman.

[ It's a cover for I haven't called, having veered away from the team out of his stubborn guilt over ... well, over everything. Loki's baggage makes it difficult to travel, he'd say. ]

We have bigger concerns right now, such as fairies.

[ He really did just say that instead. ]

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-05 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
They are bigger than I imagined.

[Like way bigger. Some are taller than Teddy himself. ]

You could drop in once to someone, you know, just so we know you're not in God jail or on the run.

[you big dumb. Teddy gives him a pointed look. It's a look that says 'one day we're gonna talk about our feelings, but I'm still mad at you so it's not today.' It's a very meaningful look. After a moment he looks away. ]

So, fairies. Do you have a plan or was the Station about the gist of it?
ikols: why would you even (what)

[personal profile] ikols 2015-01-06 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ God jail. Oh, Teddy, if only I could tell you. ]

They're bigger than you imagined because you're not imagining big enough. [ Snerk. ] The Station is a product of the fairies accidentally tying this realm to another, the original one that the Drabwurld derives from. This is basic stuff. If we can open the veil between realms, which I'm usually rather adept at, we can figure out why we're in the renfaire version of it.

[ He gestures as he talks. ]

It's sort of like being in Hel, leased from Hell. You're within one place, but contained inside another.

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-08 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Teddy gives him a skeptical glance. ]

Don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure you'll be able to open the veil here? You did get a sack thrown over your head by imps.

[he's just saying. ]

And then get kidnapped by imps. I know you're good at what you do, Loki, but I think we might be out of our depth here.
ikols: & i shot out all the lights (i took the pistol)

[personal profile] ikols 2015-01-08 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
[ The flattest look ever, Teddy now owns it. ]

I've been to the Otherworld in Britain. I know a place almost entirely like this only not, it's a reflection of its reality. If we find places around the map which relate to real gateways on the other side, we can weaken the walls; the veil will thin out.

[ And just because he's feeling needled: ]

In my defense, you also got kidnapped by the little Guillermo del Toro nightmares. Maybe I'm not right, I doubt I am, but credit me with more experience than you currently have up your sleeve.

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-08 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but I'm not a god Loki. I was eating breakfast oreos.

[bro....... BRO... don't be mad. ]

But cool, okay. Let's do that. Beats going to war, right?

[He can't believe he got Loki to do a frowny face. Amazing. He offers a tiny, totsey smile and a pat on the shoulder. ] I'm sure you're one-hundred percent right. Probably.

2/2

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-08 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
[He gives Loki's shoulder a squeeze. ]

Also, just for the record, no pranks. No leaving in the middle of trouble. No half-plans.

[Loki, if you leave him in the middle of the fairy wilderness to do an errand he will hang you off a tree by your chainmail. ]

I mean it.
ikols: that the devil made (can break the magic)

[personal profile] ikols 2015-01-08 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
If you can't have any faith in me then at least trust that I do want to find a way out of here.

[ Huffing!! Anyway. ]

We won't have to go to war and do the killing-people thing if we can disarm or dissuade them. Alternatively, we keep right out of that side of things.

[personal profile] ex_heirborn755 2015-01-08 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
No, I believe you want to get out of here.

[But there's a but and they both know Teddy doesn't trust him. Too many tricks and plans and schemes; Teddy just wants breakfast oreos and spooning, for two days at least. There's always something to interrupt.]

Are we flying or can you take us? My way involves camping and we don't have tents.
