Feast

[With a tempered yawn, Lancer pressed one hand over his mouth and shut his eyes while walking through the great hall as the new soldiers and the like were enjoying themselves. Had he not been in such a good mood, Archer would have earned a stern look from the Hound as he passed. Rather, Lancer set his hand on the back of the man's seat, decidedly pouring the guy more wine with a cheeky grin.

Bribery wasn't the Hound's style. Rather, it was something he was used to doing after getting into fights with other warriors of his clan. One moment, they would be spitting insults and swinging steel at one another and in the next, they would be laughing and sharing drinks. To Lancer, Gilgamesh was as good as an oddball king strolling down a dusty road, but he did him one favor in the war--he took him seriously in their fight. In the end, Lancer got his wish and Goldie won at least some politeness from him.]

Yo, Archer. [He didn't think he was sneaking up on the guy at all, if only because he was a fellow servant. Gilgamesh would have been shameful if he didn't sense his presence.]

I owed you one, for those compliments you gave me.

[Gilgamesh may consider himself King of Kings, but he remains at his core a Servant, and so senses his fellow long before he comes strolling along in all his casual splendor. And he cannot object when Lancer pours him more drink; clever as the spear from which he draws his namesake, he understands how to pay the King proper tribute and respect, and so the King respects him for this in kind.

They are not equals and could never be, but Gilgamesh will dine and drink with him, as he would his own men. He gestures to the empty seat beside him, to indicate Lancer is welcome there as long as he doesn't start running his mouth.]

Don't expect such flattery again, lest your ego swell overmuch.

[Rich words from Gilgamesh, but it also might be a jest. Might.]
