Basch fon Ronsenburg | Final Fantasy XII | Seelie
[Basch has had enough of the feast--he cares little for wine, nor the loose tongues that accompany it. He's heard enough of this place, spoken to enough of the people here, to know that there will be no easy way back to Ivalice. His lord is not here. What else is there to do, then?
For a start, he's come down to the stables to secure himself a mount. The attendant fairyfolk seem willing enough to lend him a steed... but when he reaches the stall that they've pointed out, he finds himself face to face with a large chestnut-colored horse. Do they not ride chocobos, here?
Anyone in the stables will see, at least for a moment or two, a tall, blond, scarred man in ornate full plate armor staring at a horse.
This is what we call "dithering."]
B. Just outside Caer Glaem
[Eschewing the Judicer's plate that seems a touch redundant, Basch has wandered outside the stronghold to the surrounding meadows, clad in a simple linen shirt and breeches. There's a sword belt around his waist, the only outward sign that he expects to encounter any sort of difficulty.
He cares little for this situation, but from what he's gathered that's nothing new or special in any way. Moreover, no amount of his own dislike will change anything. So for the first time in possibly years, Basch is going to go outside and smell the roses. Literally.
He's been a knight for the entirety of his adult life, and he's been a Judge Magister for the last year, living in his brother's shadow. For the first time in a year he can tell the people around him his true name. For the first time in longer still he can tell them his name and not be called "kingslayer" in return. There are things that must be done, aye, but there is also time to be himself for a change. Time to take a walk outside and enjoy the sunshine on his face.
Find him anywhere outside the castle strolling in the meadows.]
C. Choose your own adventure And remember kids, for those who know Gabranth, this guy is literally the same guy except for a scar across his brow. Have fun with that.
yells!!!!!!!!!!! also A
But not right now. A black chocobo is wandering loose in the stables, and makes her presence known with a loud wark in Basch's direction. Though she hardly seems inclined to attack, something about him does seem to be agitating her... ]
C! (edited a little for court discrepancies woops...)
So as soon as he's acclimated enough, Balthier opts to take the opportunityy to try and get a better sense of this new world. Perhaps he might even be able to find Fran or the Strahl somewhere as well in his travels. People and ships didn't just disappear, especially when he had been with them just moments before being dragged into this whole fiasco.
He didn't mean to linger at the Station for so long, but the new technologies that littered the area were interesting, to say the least. It's just when he decides that he's spent enough time in front of the television that he spots someone who looks oddly familiar. It's been about a year since he last saw the Captain, but it was hard to forget the face of someone who you had been fighting alongside for so long, even if he had gotten a haircut and looked astonishingly like his dead brother.
Balthier keeps a casual pace and maintains his distance, just in case it's some magical trick of this place. Once he's satisfied that it might actually be him, he closes the distance so he's in hearing range.]
Making your grand escape? [He saunters over to Basch with a wry smirk.] And here I thought you'd grown tired of the fugitive life.
A screams quietly at all these ivalicians
he's surprised to find that he's not exactly alone in the stables, catching sight of an armored man staring at a horse. uhh... hm. okay. not like Lloyd didn't react the same way when he first saw the horses, so he can't say anything. there's something familiar about that armor, though... ]
Never seen one of those before?
[ don't worry Basch, you're among friends. ]
A
...
hold up]
I thought you gave up on those ghastly things once you found a suitable alternative? They're not going to get any better, you know.
[...ah, no, he caught Basch from the wrong side...]
