[ Well, now Wege looks like an idiot, holding a plate of cheese towards someone who clearly doesn't want cheese. But, mild-mannered as he is, Wedge takes it in stride; he puts the plate down, then crosses his arms as he too leans against the wall. But to think, not to pose aloofly. ] I was bagged. [ He says it like he can't quite believe it himself. ] These creatures they call imps threw me into a bag. Then I found myself here.

[ A shrug. ] It's not glamorous in the least. I hope my squadron never hears about this. I'll never hear the end of it.

Bagged? No, I wouldn't call it embarrassing if you've never come across something like them before.

[Not exactly that she has. She thought they were something else. Wait. You fit into a bag? Never mind. Moving on.]

Then, you're in a military, of some kind?

[ Wedge smiles. ] You don't know the Rogues. We use practical jokes to boost morale, for bonding. Some say letting my men get away with all this nonsense makes me a bad commander. But the Wedge Pledge was very clever. I like to reward ingenuity.

[ A nod. ] Commander Antilles of Rogue Squadron. "Impossible is our stock in trade, and success is what we deliver."

[She doesn't exactly approve. But that kind of ingenuity might not be so wise among mages. Other people, though? Probably fine.]

So you had assumed being bagged was an act by one of your own men?

[sfoils]

[ Okay, this is the most Wedge's ever talked about himself. He needs a drink to wet his throat. ] No, actually, I assumed I was being kidnapped by imps—that's Imperials. [ Finally, he grabs the nearest bottle and takes a drink. Tastes like a fruity wine. Not his preference, but it'll do. ] I'm part of the Rebel Alliance. The Galactic Empire is who we're fighting.

[She didn't exactly mean to ask so many personal questions. How about a topic change they might both agree on?]

And who are we fighting here, Commander? Do you know?

[ Not personal, just on a topic he isn't keen to talk about. ] I was told I'd be fighting something called the Seelie. Whoever or whatever they are, I would've appreciated being asked rather than being forced.
