Remus recognizes the way that the other man is curling into himself at the feasting table. He has done so himself, many a time before. Perhaps it would not be in good taste to point out that no matter how hard he tries, unless he does have the magical ability to do so, he will not become as invisible as he would like to, so he holds the comment back on his tongue and instead approaches with a quiet smile, gesturing with his own goblet of wine to the open space beside the other man.

"Is that seat taken?" he asks, a quiet, kind smile on his face as he does. It might be noted that Remus too walks with a bit of a limp, at the moment. Even with Hermione's spells and potions, the full moon will never be a kind mistress, and with the feast falling so soon after it... He does the best he can to be as normal as he can, but he too has his demons.

Kou responds first with a boyish grin. A boyish, somewhat drunken grin.

"Go right ahead." He gestures to the seat and shuffles a bit in his own, self-conscious.

Remus's smile flashes wider for a moment before he shifts into the seat itself. "Thank you," he comments, quietly. "I understand that the feast can be a bit much, if you're not used to such an affair. It's really not that bad, though." It's an easy enough lie to make. The man looks fairly new, after all. There's no need to get into the whole nitty gritty of the war so soon after the poor fellow has arrived.

He raises the glass at him. "They certainly have excellent taste in alcohols, for one."
