[ this is...weird. for a moment clarke's confused face looms in the video, then she sits back and clears her throat loudly, trying to be all 'business'.

it's...not working. ]

This is- transmitting, right? [ she mumbles under her breath, before straightening her posture a little and raising a hand in a vague greeting. ] I'm looking for people of the Ark. Sky People. if that means anything to you- please, let me know. I need to find my people.

[ pause, and then: ]

And- people who understand all of this. ...What if they're in the other Court?

[ FEAST ]

Clarke isn't exactly comfortable - but then again, she doesn't exactly fit in amongst the merriment and finery. She's still covered in mud, blood and scars, there hadn't exactly been any real time to change into nicer digs before coming to fix up someone else's problems. Still, she tries to smile as best as she can in face of the strangers around her. It's going to be a lot easier to try and get a read on the people around her if she at least tries to blend in, right?

Right. Anyway, the more selfish side of her realises with a slight jolt that she's starving. She hasn't had a real meal since leaving Mount Weather, and the painful growl in her stomach reminds her of the fact. As carefully as she can manage she worms her way between people, trying to disturb as little as possible as she reaches out towards the tables. Naturally it doesn't work out as well as she hopes, and she manages to spill half a plate of food rather ungracefully across the table (and maybe even someone's lap too), but before she apologises she quickly pushes something sweet and light into her mouth.

"Oh, Christ, I'm sorry," she certainly looks sincere enough, cringing slightly as she tries to tidy up, "It's- I've had a long day, hang on, let me get that."

Sky People are your people, huh?

( bellamy definitely wouldn't consider himself sky people material anymore, but he would venture to say that clarke is one of his own -- tentatively, of course. there's still their differences between them, still privileged and not, but there's no denying that they make a better team when their heads are put together as one.

which is why he isn't exactly happy that he's in the unseelie court, while clarke is over with the sunshine and do-gooders in seelie. ( it fits her, though, definitely. ) )

Anyway, Princess, looks like we're on opposite ends of the war. Go figure.

[ don't you get all judgey on her right now, she's too busy working on hiding the grin that threatens to break through at the sight of a familiar face. except then he points out the 'opposite sides' deal and she just-

well, deflates isn't exactly the word for it, but it's close. they work well together, they do, and they'd do much more good on the same side of this war than against each other. ]

Funny twist of fate, that. [ rough ] We don't have to actually fight, right? Me and you,I mean. Not in the macro sense.

Nah. I wouldn't want to get on your bad side. ( he has a very bad memory of her mercy killing adam, which was possibly when he starting respecting her, so. he knows she isn't afraid to kill, that she'd be a very formidable opponent, a very noteworthy ally. they're never going to be on opposite sides, as far as bellamy is concerned. )

Even if we did -- it won't be for too long. ( being together is what's important, isn't it? strength in numbers, and all that. ) I'll be over to the Seelie side before you can get yourself into too much trouble.

[ if she seems relieved, it's only because-

well, no there's no two ways around it. she's relieved because she doesn't want to fight him, pride be damned. previous alliances are always going to be more important to her than whatever fight they've been brought in to add weight to, or whatever it is they're doing here.

she sighs, even smiles (little sad but when isn't it?) and shrugs her shoulders a little. ]

You can do that? I mean- [ okay lil bit of pride now, mostly in the form of kicking herself because damn did she really sound that pleased at the idea of bellamy hopping over to team seelie? there's working well together and then there's that. ] I'm pretty sure I'd keep you out of trouble, but sure.

[If Bellamy's relieved to see her - and he is - he's trying his damnedest to hide it. It's bad enough that he's found himself stuck in some fairy world, but it sends a wave of worry for those still back home, without either of them there. Despite that, there's a grin threatening to break his composure.]

You probably coulda thrown in a few more keywords. Maybe something about Grounders.

[He's not being entirely serious. Dropping 'The Ark' alone is enough to get any of their people's attention. But how do you say hello normally?? The answer is irrelevant to him right now tbh.]

[ of course she's relieved to see him here, they've been through so much now that she'd practically expected him to show up sooner or later, and clarke's definitely glad that it's sooner. it's selfish, sure, but she knows how to lead with him, knows how to survive with him. it's childish and needy, but she feels better for knowing that bellamy is in the drabwurld too.

he might not grin but she does, a little sloppy as she huffs out a sigh, and after rubbing a hand over her forehead briefly she raises her eyebrows at him. 'hello' certainly isn't overrated. ]

I was thinking of throwing Mountain Men in there too, but I didn't want to be too crass. [ she comments with a slight smirk, despite herself, before her look softens back to her usual state of mild concern and seriousness. ] Are you okay?

[Honestly, as much as Bellamy knows how well they work and lead together, watching her face light up when she sees him still throws him - especially when he thinks about the way he almost dropped her over that spiked pit way back when. And she's a welcome familiarity here, now.]

Good call. [He doesn't want to fight this war, not when he's got another waiting at home with the aforementioned Mountain Men.] Can't say I've never been kidnapped by imps before, but it's not the worst experience of my life. [Translation: yeah, he's okay. He pauses, his own face flashing with concern right back.] What about you?

Imps, huh?

[ it's surreal, definitely. they've come from a place of technological monsters - hell, they used to live in space - and being thrust into magic is throwing clarke for a loop to say the least. she's used to being out of her depth, sure, but it's nothing on fairies and imps. ]

Sounds much more rough, I got fairies. [ and the significance of that will register in a moment, but for now she's just relishing in communicating with someone she actually knows. ] At least they were polite about it? I've had worse kidnappings.

Apparently. [He is stubbornly refusing to believe it, even though he's surrounded by it and saw it first hand. So he probably has started to believe it, but he can be grumpy about it anyway.]

[She does get an eyeroll when she drops the word 'fairies' though.] Not all that polite on my end. [It confirms it, that they're in different courts, he picks up on that right away. Bellamy probably should be more concerned about it, but he's long since started to see rules and standards as unneeded when they get in the way. When it comes to his people, their people, to Clarke herself, he'll find workarounds. Clarke is not the enemy.] You missed out on the 'literally get thrown into a bag' experience.
