[ She huffs out a laugh. That amusement settles in her eyes and doesn't go away— she adapts to the use of shorthand easily. Even with how quick Natasha is, though, it's hard to miss how her expression shutters at the mention of the Winter Soldier. ]

We said hello.

[ She lifts her brows in a way that suggests that nothing bad went down, exactly, but it doesn't make her comfortable. ]

He seemed— [ A pause. ] —lost.

[Steve arches a brow, his eyes flickering up and down as if he could actually check her for injury. He already knows that without Hydra and their orders, Bucky's less likely to give her trouble. But he still borders on unpredictable.

He sighs, relaxing a little.]

That's one way of putting it. We're working on it. But how're you doing? This place has gotta be new, even for you.

[ That definitely makes her laugh. Natasha's Russian, but she's also a pragmatist, and being teleported out and told about faerie rings isn't exactly in her purview. ]

You could say that.

[ Enough generalities. She shrugs. ]

I've heard enough stories in folklore. And from the sounds of it, this is just another fight I have to put my name into. [ Whether or not she's going to decline is something she's keeping to herself. ] That part isn't new.

I could do without the imps, though.

[Yeah, she's actually right about that. Steve wondered how he'd ever fit in in a world full of fairies and magic when he first arrived. But the longer he's here, the more he's learned that a lot of things aren't so different after all. He just went from one mildly strange (to him) world to another.]

Normally I wouldn't be for kicking something that only stood knee-high. It seems cruel. But from what I've heard about those things...

[Possibly. But he trusts her a lot more now.

Her request earns a soft, surprised laugh. Yeah, she's probably not much into the fairy princess look.]

There's a place in the Station where you might get lucky. But watch that saleslady, she has quick hands.

[ Of course. Natasha makes a noise that's probably a laugh, the corner of her mouth pitching up then down. ]

That fast?

[ She's not asking about stealing borrowing, Steve, she's asking about whether the saleslady has magic-quick hands. Probably. ]
