And yet, it doesn't occur to her to be worried because he's not the kind of dragon she knows.]
A Truedragon or Dragonlord from my home would but need to ask politely. [She smiles slyly.] Though I wager a promise of a favor or some payment in return would make the farmer more joyful about it.
Things must not be the same where you are from, though all the same, I'm sure this farmer would appreciate an apology. If nothing else, for the fright you gave the sheep you did not eat.
[At least it's a gentle kind of scolding?]

Asking politely has not gone well for me in the past, nor do I particularly care to grant a farmer a favor. [ Those seemed as good as gold here and one from a dragon, of all things, might be better kept ungiven. ] The farmer should be glad I only take one from his flock and move on, rather then preying upon it more than once.

That is true, and generous, of a sort.
Still, there may be a better way, and one that does not inspire fear and mistrust between human and dragon.
[Pod sits herself down on a rock, looking like she's ready to tackle a difficult puzzle. So the dragon didn't ask for help, but there are powerful people here, and she would be so sorry to see him hunted or even killed for something that could be easily avoided.]
There is plenty of wild game here in the forests. Hunting in the trees might be difficult for a dragon, but there are plenty here who do hunt, and could be convinced to share their catches, with the right incentive.

I do not exactly carry anything on me that could be the right incentive. [ There's threatening them, but he's already sure she'd call that the wrong kind. ] I don't think I can really be blamed, when they keep all their animals out in a wide open area, too docile to know to run when my shadow crosses them. How could I resist?
[ This is mostly his empty stomach talking. Normally, he's more honorable, but when it comes to food? It's a different matter! ]

Do all dragons where you're from think with their stomachs so? What of the consequences? True, angry farmers could do little on their own, but if they went to plead with the rulers, a powerful mage could be ordered after you! Or worse!
no subject
[ Quite possibly, all things he's seen so far considered. His brow furrows and he wrinkles his nose, looking down at the sheep that may or may not cause him so much grief. ]
Pah, like there is any that do not think with their stomach first, even humans, but if it does rile them up so, I will take my hunting to the wilds instead.
no subject
[She smiles, quite pleased, and also relieved to hear that.]
And if there is something I can do to assist you, I would be happy to, Your Grace.

I wasn't sure if Your Grace or My Lord was better. I had thought you would correct me if it was incorrect, and so you have. My lord, then?
