It's obvious though that he doesn't speak this particular truth often and honesty sits awkwardly in his speech.]
I rendered a service to one of their princes when I became rector of Allhope. In payment he took it upon himself to discover more of my ancestry and later revealed to me that a cousin of his had seduced my mother some years earlier and was my father. After that I was often a guest at his house until he forced my hand by threatening several ladies of my acquaintance.
[Perhaps one of the more unsettling testaments to his peculiar background is just how calmly and offhandedly he can refer to the murder of his cousin.]

[Half-elven. And yet not, he thinks; for would not elven blood impact the man's looks more, even if it makes up only half of the blood that flows in his veins?]
Or so might you be called in my world, if truly my kin and the Daione Sidhe are the same and only separate through where they hail from.
[He keeps his tone academic, neutral, though to learn this about the other... Not the exact nature of his blood, not the exact story, but some of it. He feels a sudden, strange kinship, and it is all that he can do to notice and control it, trying to store it away firmly.]

There may yet be some kinship there, [since any relationship to humanity's out of the question] but thus far you have comported yourself far more calmly than any of the Sidhe which I have met or heard of. Rationality, or so I have seen it written, is not one of their strengths.

We are not a people of one mood only; I shall call my father's kin dark and my mother's valiant, and yet her second brother is not so. The one thing which I wager all of kin, near and far, possess is a will which will not let go of what they have set their mind on once or what path they have stepped on, it should prove disastrous or not.

[His tone manages to just barely come off as nonlecturing. Whereas he implies that he, thanks to his mixed heritage, clearly combines the best traits of both. The ego is practically blinding.]

Primary strategy: Ignore. As in, stay silent and simply give them a dark look (but then, that is his reaction to most things, unless there is something that he wants. Which is the case here.]
Have you, then, seen any here who resemble me closely enough to be of my world?

He hesitates only a heartbeat to announce their names; if they are here, they will hear of him soon one way or the other.]
