Asami Sato ° ATLOK ° Very Seelie
[ Asami is sitting by the tables, quietly eating while she tries to figure what in earth is going on. She's supposed to be the one that thinks things through! But suddenly she's somewhere unknown surrounded by strangers, some of them just as confused as she is. That cannot be good. Still, she's going to keep to herself until she can figure what to do next.
What's the worst that could happen? ]

[ Simply put, Asami is in awe at the architecture of the place; she still hasn't quite bought the whole magic thing (although if bending is a thing...) but she has to admit it seems nearly impossible to simple go and build something like that without some sort of superhuman help.
She's so distracted that she walks right into you, too. Bouncing back, she lifts her hands defensively. ]
Sorry! My feet were walking on their own, this place is just so breathtaking.

but she doesn't even have to take time to register that voice, to recognize it, she knows. ]
Asami!! [ and within seconds there's an avatar attaching herself to asami in a great big bear hug, holding tight. ]
I was going to bed but now I can't just leave it at it can I (also she's from right before s4)
[ Later, Asami is going to be a bit ashamed of not recognizing Korra right away. Right now though? She's too happy to have finally found her to care. The hug almost tackles her down, but she's already used to the Team Avatar's rough love, not to mention she misses it a good deal, more than she thought. ]
Korra! I was starting to think you had actually avoided this crazy place. [ She can't help but grin even as they hug. ] Would have been a first though, you missing the action.

[ but this is going to take a lot of explaining, something korra will worry about when she's done hugging asami. it's been ages since she's seen her friend, and ever since her dreams of back home, of asami getting her and the airship crew out of the desert... it's been a lot more difficult without her around. korra's missed her more than she realized, and she'll allow herself another moment more before she finally lets go of asami so she can look her in the eyes. ]
It's about time you showed up!

[ She's going to hold Korra at arm's length now, giving her a good look because seriously, the fact she had just found her momentarily overrode her common sense. Korra looks fine, fine like before and that's really good, but also really weird. The whole thing about people coming from different moments in their lives was something she had heard already, but up until this moment she wasn't a believer.
Her expression softens; maybe it's for the best if Korra stays like that. Asami doesn't even want to think about all the pain she went through. ]
I think this is one of those weird time things I was told about. To me, you were on the Southern Water Tribe. Apparently that's not the case for you.

... At home? Why would I be there? [ confusion settles on her features, one eyebrow arched high. ] We had so much to do in the Earth Kingdom after—
[ she cuts herself off, sudden excitement gripping her, and she tightens her hold on asami's shoulders. ]
Asami, wait, do you remember what happened after Harmonic Convergence?
[ there's no way asami would be after that, korra figures. she had no time to go home for any reason, not with all the airbenders popping up in the earth kingdom, not after zaheer took out the earth queen. there was way, way too much to do; so if asami was from before all that, korra could finally share some good news. ]

But apparently she hasn't lived through it yet, so Asami makes the instant decision of not telling her. She'll protect Korra from the inevitable for as long as she can. It might be selfish of her, but she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she were to make her best friend feel bad. ]
New Airbenders started to appear, yes. I think...maybe I'm a bit ahead of things this time around. [ A few years ahead, even. ]

maybe she shouldn't think about it too hard. it'll all make sense soon enough, so she should just be happy that asami's here and focus on that.
( but this will stick in the back of her mind, make her wonder late at night; none of it makes sense. )
yeah, that sounds like a good idea. focus on the good right now because you know what? there's enough tough and bad in this world to match back home, so having the whole krew here is cause for excitement. ]

Well, whatever happened— [ she pulls back, and loosely crosses her arms over her chest. ] —you're here now, and I know Bolin and Mako will be so excited to see you.

[ but! korra steps to the side and makes a show out of giving asami a polite bow, lightly teasing of the world than anything else. she holds out her arm to indicate a direction of travel through the corridors: they'll take the long way around so korra can get asami familiar with the area. ]

[ and with that, korra pushes the doors to her queen sized room wide open and steps inside. on the giant bed is naga, face buried under her paws as she sleeps.
but really, the place is huge. not sato mansion-huge, but given the fact that most people have only a small bedroom and not the ensuite, couches, sitting room, additional bedroom and all the trappings that come with a bedroom fit for a queen... ]

[ She's pretty sure this isn't standard treatment, but she only needs to give it some thought to realize that being very the Avatar must come with its perks even here. Her trail of thought is cut when she lies her eyes on Naga. Cutie.
Asami walks around the room, taking in all the fine details. ]
Don't worry, Naga and I will catch up later. Seems like you've been doing well here. I'm glad.
