[He feared that that would be the case. There likely is a difference in the lockets, between those who simply will not answer at the moment and those who... cannot. He can't quite place it yet (and it idly picks his interest so he will look into it some other time - these lockets aren't particularly trustworthy, it'll be all the better if he tries to figure them out) but point is, he felt that... something was wrong. Is wrong.

His expression darkens at the news, anger at those responsible rising quickly. To take not only him but also his brother from Makalaurë (he isn't quite aware that there lies some hypocrisy in this)...]

Where are you now?

[The thing that doesn't match up is that Makalaurë looks better, not worse. Not quite as close to fading. And that is... more than odd, to say the least. Something is off here, and he will get behind it in a bit.]
bythewaves: (haughty)

yay! also Mags has told Gladdy to look after Muscovy if something goes wrong

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-08 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[ A small tip of his head ]

With my brother. [ because Maglor stays close to Maedhros, hoping against hope that he will stay, although he already thinks he will loose him (he looses all of them, eventually) ]

They brought Nyelafinwe here, not a few months past. [ he flicks a quick glance outside ] I can come to you - the moon is up, and I was granted a boon to allow me to travel vast distances by moonlight.
lightcatcher: (someday)

In case of accidental kinslayings?

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-08 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[Maitimo One son for another, and that he grieves, but then - he is not unaware that Maglor and Maedhros have always been close, and if this is why his second son looks better now, he can see no ill in at least Maedhros's presence, if not in Celegorm's absence.]

Can you bring another with you?

[He would rather see both sons that are currently in this world than only one, if he can.]

prettttttty much |D he also bartered with Thran for Ner's safety /is organised

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-08 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I can but... I suspect he will not want to come. [ And lol trying to make big bro do anything ]
lightcatcher: (touch the sky)

Maglor no accidental kinslayings those are unhealthy

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-08 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Attempt it.

[And if he fails to bring his elder brother - Fëanor is not pleased at all by the implications of this. Especially not if he recalls his first conversations with Maglor.]
bythewaves: (my older brother)

he will try! also lol since we can't *really* get Mae in here unless I play him too HE REFUSED =p

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-08 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Maglor tips his head in acknowledgement, but when he arrives, he is alone ]

Sorry atarinya. He did not want to come, although he says he will face you just... not now.

[ Or he might punch you ]
lightcatcher: (let it go)

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-09 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
I shall find him, then.

[After this conversation.

Also have bright grey eyes pin you to the next wall (not literally).]
Your mother tells me that you lost your heart again, though it also was returned to you yet another time.
bythewaves: (despair)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-09 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ a worried shrug ] I can take you to where he resides, but I do not know if he will see you. His mood has been very black of late.

[ I am going to lose him again ]

[ he nods, and his eyes flick down meekly, unable to hold his father's gaze ]

Yes. After the time you were here. That was the second.

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-09 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
For what reason?

[Don't lose it a third. ...and he will speak to his eldest son. He doesn't even consider the option that Maedhros might truly refuse it. What worries him more is the phrasing when Maglor speaks of his brother's mood. Considering the younger brother's own fading...] What is it that you describe as "black" in your brother's mood?
bythewaves: (Default)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-09 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
[ something dark and ugly in his gentle second son's eyes, satisfied too, like a cat playing with a mouse ]

The Seelie Champion killed him. He bartered his life for the Silmaril. She knows better now.

[ he shrugs, and perhaps the level of unconcern is true, or maybe Maglor is just that good an actor these days ]

It hurt a lot. [ He says plainly ] I wished the Silmaril away, where none could ever lay hand to it. And then I spoke of my weariness to my friend, and the magic took it as permission and removed my heart again. It hurt a lot to get it back that time. [ Absently, he pushes a strand of hair back from his face and there is the briefest moment when the moonlight hits at just the right angle to seem to shine through him. Maglor no longer Fades, but reversal... ]

Maedhros... Nyelo is grim and ... speaks little. And... there is only blackness in his eyes. It is. Like after Thangorodrim. And after Fingon... Findekano was slain. He... hates it here so badly, amongst the orcs. But he needs to earn enough favor to get us out. I do not think he is sleeping. He barely eats. He only smiles for me.

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-09 11:06 am (UTC)(link)
A number of emotions flashes across the firstborn elf's face.

Horror at the first, for there is a difference between losing one's life in the strife for a silmaril and giving it up willingly - and hearing of the death of a son of his will never be something that will not make him burn with dark feelings, though the nature of those will differ by cause.

Anger and sorrow and ire at the second, and a number of conflicting feelings at the third, and it is that that darkens his features the most, though what he takes up in words, unable to truly reply to any of it, is the second.] You "wished" it away. [He cannot feel anything specific towards it at the moment, not with all else that Maglor has said. With what else he knows. That will come in time. He would have desired to see it, yet...]
bythewaves: (corner of my eye)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-09 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
Mmhmm. [ careless, as if he doesn't care, and this, more than anything, must speak of how deep it hurts it, to bury all of it behind this playful, unhurting mask ]

How did I put it again?

That the Silmarils, in whatever shape or form they are brought to and resides still in this world, that they be kept safe and inviolate from all that would claim them, saving only my father. That this would be so forever, that none may again lay hand to them saving by my father's leave.

[ He slants a look at Feanor ]

Of course, Will maintained the magic, and he is gone now, and, I suppose, any chance of retrieving the Silmaril with him.
lightcatcher: (touch the sky)

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-09 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Will is gone. Well, one good piece of news among all these horrible ones. That is something.]

Did you lose your heart again ere he left, or after?
bythewaves: (corner of my eye)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-09 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
It was Will's magic. [ He shrugs, still with that careless, easy mask ] He thought it might help. It did, a bit. While my heart was gone.

[ He looks away ] The second time was an accident, but Will confirmed that he felt the magic act.
lightcatcher: (hakuna matata)

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-09 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
The threat of it happening once more is banned, then?

[Perhaps. If it is rooted in Will's mind... yet if it is rooted in Maglor's, the threat is still present. And while in another he might not think of it this readily, Miriel and her seed have always had a mindset which turned their will into their doom, one way or the other, in small or larger ways.

Yet Will's "magic" seemed less bound to the will than one would expect, and perhaps his presence or absence makes no difference at all, in the end.]
bythewaves: (here i stand)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-09 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[ A pause, the unconcerned mask dropping for something more real as Maglor considers ]

I... do not know. Will's power drove the magic, but the second time I had said no word to him, and yet it acted in any case. I have... been very careful with my words since.

[ As he's almost certain what his trigger phrase is ]
lightcatcher: (touch the sky)

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-10 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
[His expression darkens.]

So it is words on your parts which trigger the curse?

[That's not surprising at all, really, no matter how much he would wish to say otherwise.]
bythewaves: (alone)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-10 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
[ Maglor nods, once ]

Yes, atarinya. I am almost certain it was so the second time as well.
lightcatcher: (everybody wants to be a cat)

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-10 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
So it will only be upon your own wish that you will be cursed again.

[A sharp glance.] You do not wish for it, do you?
bythewaves: (makalaure)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-10 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ There is a suspiciously long pause at that, and then Maglor lifts his eyes to meet his father's ]

Not at present, atto. I... cannot say if I will not wish it again if... [ He does not finish, but likely, Feanor can guess. If they take from me my brother, if they take from me my mother, if they take from me my joy, what reason have I? ]
lightcatcher: (someday)

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-10 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
And if you lose your heart for the absence of your brother and mother, and they return after, what will they do?
bythewaves: (turn aside)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-10 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[ a shrug ] The second time nearly killed me. The third, I think, will. So they will not have to worry, as I will be beyond their care.
lightcatcher: (no way out)

(frozen comment)

[personal profile] lightcatcher 2015-01-10 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
None of us will cease caring about you.

[His voice is harsh, with an edge to it that is barely ever directed at his sons. This is one of the few things where he is absolutely sure that himself, Nerdanel and Maitimo will be on the same page, no matter how much any of them have changed (even though he realizes that for a while, while darkness clouded his mind, the others might have doubted his own inclusion in this).]
bythewaves: (little boy lost)

(frozen comment)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2015-01-10 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Startlement, Maglor blinking up at his father at that as if woken from some dark dream. And then he looks away ]

I know. But atto if they go I do not know if I will have the strength to continue.
lightcatcher: (everybody wants to be a cat)

Are there no others than them whom you care about in this world?

[For he knows well that his son has always taken to taking care of others and being by their side when the times were troubled, more so even than to his music, if that is possible. (Both are easier to transport than a forge, so there are upsides to it).]
