I had noticed. [But the specifics of those drawn from other worlds has evaded her. Now is as good a time as any to ask - while she samples the tarts.] A vampire? What does that mean?

[Slipping out of her seat, she joins him on the fur, reaching out to gently grip his jaw.]

[Well, she was a fearless one, wasn't she? The move surprised him, though really, with how much she'd all but stamped her foot earlier when rattling off her titles, he should have figured.

The fangs came out, not as a threatening display, but just to show.]

Are retractable. And vampire basically means someone that used to be alive, drank vampire blood, got killed, then transitioned into a vampire themselves after feeding on a human. It's a process.

[Curiosity gets the better of her and she leans in, examining his fangs. They could easily slice through skin if what he sought was blood.]

It's more a necessity. Vampires drink blood and we keep tick-tocking along like normal. If we don't... well, it's not pretty.

[His nose wrinkled at the thought of having to eat raw meat of any kind. Biting into human flesh to get the blood was different than munching on the heart. Gross.]

I'm sure that was all the vitamins a growing... dragon baby needed.

[He still wasn't sure about her and what she was, being able to not be burned like that. Maybe it was a parlor trick.]

You starve. [No one looks good when they're starving.] It was their custom. My brother sold me to Khal Drogo in return for an army. I was prepared to do what it took to give the Khal a strong son.

[But not because of her brother.]

It is said that the blood of Dragons runs through Targaryen veins. I am the last of my family and I have been immune to fire and heat since I was a child.

[Well, that gave him a bit more insight into what sort of place she came from. And she was royalty? God save him from medieval worlds.

Did one of your great-great-greats have a one night fling with a dragon of some sort? Or is this just some nifty genetic trait that your lineage has. Because, let me tell you, that is a nifty one to get.

I loved my brother. He was my only family for years, but yes, he sold me. [Viserys was her only protection and she was his shadow. She had been hurt when he had sold her to Khal Drogo, but it was their best option for regaining the Iron Throne. It was only after Khal Drogo and the Dothraki encouraged her to gain confidence as their Khaleesi that she began to fight back against Viserys's abuse.]

I do not know. [She smiles a little at the thought.] I cannot see it being possible. Dragons are quite...large.

It really wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.
