He didn't have anything he wanted as his boon, so he just asked for whatever. They gave him metal that could be used to make a shield that reflects magic. So not only can he solve the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time now, but he can also annoy wizardlings who want to throw magic at him.

When he gets done, that might easily be arranged, seeing as how he hasn't really met anyone else who uses magic. (And he'd appreciate less yelling, but he hangs around Arya, so he's kind of used to it by now.)
