It's not like Daud has room to judge when it comes to being unfeelingly ruthless, but he's very intent on steering clear of the war and the fact that Celegorm is diving headfirst into it makes him super wary. Plus he kinda likes Maglor and suspects that his brotachment to Celegorm is gonna lead to bad things.
