Timeskip CR Meme

While similar to the CR meme in some ways, the fields within the text area below are meant to facilitate planning and plotting so that by the time the CR meme rolls around everyone has a much clearer idea of what all has been happening and in what direction they are heading, especially as the timeskip looms large on the horizon.

Should you need it, you can always refer to the re-posted Timeskip Calendar for ideas! Characters have already been starting up businesses (coffee shops, playhouses, a P.I. office, even a business selling non-locket network devices!) so be sure to check it out!

As a note, please remember the following:

There will be no new shardbearers, no monthly events (and perforce no boons). Monarch contact will be limited to include shardbearers highly ranked within their court.

Fairy rings will be inoperable. Powers, abilities, and boons may be used to allow for fast-travel. Otherwise, characters must hoof it to where they wish to go.

Lockets will not work. Characters would need traditional means to keep in touch, or need to fashion (or purchase) their own alternative means of magical communication. These alternative devices can be used on the network alongside lockets, and can be fashioned to interact with lockets.

Border violence will be the norm. Small incursions and raids into enemy territory will be frequent. Unseelie in Seelie territory, and vice versa, will be hunted by patrols/town guards/etc. NPC guards may unexpectedly drop into threads where characters are in enemy territory.

Boons all perform to their original specifications. None are depowered or vanished, though all would show the signs of age as appropriate for the passage of time.

Influence and quests would continue to be given and rewarded as normal (one quest per player per ooc month), for our OOC sanity. PCs who are able to give quests are encouraged to have an expanded docket of them at the ready.

Character: Wan
Series: Avatar (The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra)
Court: Unseelie
Current Location: N/a - Will likely be taking up occasional residence in Azure, just outside Quendi
Planned Travel: Wan will be traveling either by foot or cloudwalking all around the Drabwurld. He'll be in the eastern lands for most of spring, the northern lands for most of summer, the western lands for most of all, and the southern lands for most of winter. In places where he will be hunted for being Unseelie, he'll be keeping a very low profile. During this he will make fairly regular trips back to Azure.
General overview of recent events: Wan has only just arrived and been thrown into the defense of the heart of the Unseelie Court. He knows little about what's going on other than the war was brought directly to innocent bystanders by the Seelie army. He, like many, is not pleased, but he also knows he needs to learn a lot more before he can really help anyone on a grander scale. He'll be moving through the world over the next year to learn what he can and help out those who have nothing to do with the war but have still suffered from it.

Who are your character's known associates/friends/enemies?: Wan has not yet made any, but it's likely he'll become decent friends with Zuko.
What notable events has my character been a part of?: The Defense of Caer Scima. Just another defender.
What can other characters easily ICly learn about your character?: Wan is easily identified as an elementalist of some sort. He is also friendly.
What information is limited to specific CR?: That can be discussed with potential close CR.
What information is my character willing to share/can be readily discovered if another works to uncover it?: Wan has almost no worldly possessions and does not seem to care about them, but he would be very pleased if he could acquire a proper teapot.

Wan's Timeskip Timeline is now mostly up-to-date with where I plan to have him be during the year and what he'll be getting into. Feel free to let me know when you want them to meet up for travel fun.

SO HI THERE.

I am hoping to have Sera lay out some trip wires and just random silly booby traps and pranks during the hart hunt. Wanna fall victim to a trap oooor witness her setting up said trap and throw it off? COULD BE FUN? ;) Or any other interaction is cool, but that's what grabbed my attention from your info given.

so... the thing is... I was going to poke your planning post tomorrow about Wan joining up as a red jenny agent to make things better for the little people he comes across.

I would very much prefer he not get caught in one of her traps, but maybe witness her setting one up and stopping it could be fun. Could also be a bit of a friendly argument between friends if they meet and get friendly sometime over the spring or summer and do some red jenny type stuff together?

OH PFFFFFFT YES. That'd be just as awesome. I'm totally all for it. Witnessing is just as fine if he doesn't want to get in on the pranks himself.

Red Jenny at this point might just be Sera's contacts doing shit. Buuut that's not so far off from the actual thing so... yeeeep. Just so you know.

Sounds good to me. Wan has a chip on his shoulder over bullies and is very much about standing up for the little guys. He'd happily take part in mostly-harmless pranks and shit to make things better for them.

zuko wants to go back to mount verla, so if you want a buddy, maybe he can come with wan? he went in december when he was bendless, and the pyrii are kind of cute flameballs.

I would love a trip to Mt. Verla with Zuko! That sounds like a great life-changing field trip. :P

lmao, hopefully it's not disappointing! but just let me know what month you're thinking of doing it and i'll toss zuko right at you! depending on what sokka's doing (he hates volcanoes, but he may come anyway because he's an idiot!) druk may tag along as well. it'll be a great family expedition.

Wan's probably going to be doing that in July because obviously hitting up the hottest part of the world during the part of the year is totally an awesome idea.

I noticed you were looking around for someone to help with his shard. Rin's been studying it herself and could probably help him a bit, if there were no closer CR opportunities. She's publicly known as a magus within the Unseelie and is gaining notoriety via the influence roster. She lives in the southern part of the world so he could easily find her at The Barrel during winter.

If that doesn't work, Rin is known as an Average One which is a master of all five elements in her world so they have that mutual interest that could be used to link them together?

Additionally she's uncovered older maps of the world so if he wants to compare older stuff to what he's been mapping out/learning, he's more than welcome to ask about that. She's been fairly open that she's researched some of that, but that plot point has kind of hit a dead end for her (in favor of her goals), so it'd be nice to pass it onto others.

at the moment there are no closer CR opportunities that I'm aware of. I've posted to Alyosha's timeskip thing about getting training. But with there being a price attached, I'm not sure how much Wan will be able to get out if it. Still, I wouldn't mind him having lessons from multiple people.

And I like both of the other CR options, too. Wan is already aware that those who control the elements in this world are not necessarily using the same 'natural' abilities that those in his world do. So he's definitely going to be interested in learning about the various ways people come into or learn their powers because it's new and exciting and he's always fascinated by that sort of thing.

And the mapping changes would be very interesting. It's not a main goal, but it would be a curiosity and could lead him to ruins of older places that he could explore for a few days here and there.

Basically, I love all of this and Wan being in the south during winter will be very convenient for setting a lot of it up!

Completely understandable so I'd be glad to help. Alyosha's really good at what she does, but Rin can at least help get him started if he doesn't end up on her radar early enough. For her, she believes the skill will be known by a lot of Shardbearers soon enough and has no qualms about teaching them provided she believes in them. She'll definitely find him of interest, especially if they start talking about how others come into their powers because that's a passionate subject for her. Learning about the culture and rules of otherworldly magic excites her.

She could definitely make copies of her maps (yay magecraft) and let him go wild with that. Who knows what he might find?

I'm glad you're interested and that it's an option. I'm going to mark him down for possible shard training in winter in my roster. Whenever you think you're at a spot to thread that time of the year comfortably, feel free to toss me a PM and I'll get right on that. Otherwise I'll probably come poking as a reminder around end of March/April if I don't hear from you just to catch up :D

From what I've gotten figured out, Wan should be at the Barrel by the middle of January. Will that work for you?

Yes, that would be good as it doesn't coincide with the possible Festival of Shadow (??) or whatever it's called being hosted in January by Ariadne. I look forward to it!

Is there something you'd like to do with Wan during the timeskip?

very much so! i'm trying to gather as much potential cr for howard as i can, and seeing as he too will be spending much of his time travelling, as wan will, that seems like an ideal opportunity for them to cross paths, if only just briefly.

Wan's current timeskip plans are now actually pretty well plotted out here. Take a look and tell me when you think a good time for them (and for your current plans) to cross paths would be!
