Timeskip CR Meme

While similar to the CR meme in some ways, the fields within the text area below are meant to facilitate planning and plotting so that by the time the CR meme rolls around everyone has a much clearer idea of what all has been happening and in what direction they are heading, especially as the timeskip looms large on the horizon.

Should you need it, you can always refer to the re-posted Timeskip Calendar for ideas! Characters have already been starting up businesses (coffee shops, playhouses, a P.I. office, even a business selling non-locket network devices!) so be sure to check it out!

If you intend to opt out of the timeskip, please PM the mod account with the dates/nature of your opt out!

As a note, please remember the following:

• There will be no new shardbearers, no monthly events (and perforce no boons). Monarch contact will be limited to include shardbearers highly ranked within their court.


• Fairy rings will be inoperable. Powers, abilities, and boons may be used to allow for fast-travel. Otherwise, characters must hoof it to where they wish to go.


• Lockets will not work. Characters would need traditional means to keep in touch, or need to fashion (or purchase) their own alternative means of magical communication. These alternative devices can be used on the network alongside lockets, and can be fashioned to interact with lockets.


• Border violence will be the norm. Small incursions and raids into enemy territory will be frequent. Unseelie in Seelie territory, and vice versa, will be hunted by patrols/town guards/etc. NPC guards may unexpectedly drop into threads where characters are in enemy territory.


• Boons all perform to their original specifications. None are depowered or vanished, though all would show the signs of age as appropriate for the passage of time.


• Influence and quests would continue to be given and rewarded as normal (one quest per player per ooc month), for our OOC sanity. PCs who are able to give quests are encouraged to have an expanded docket of them at the ready.

1) She will but on the down-low! She knows with all the tension getting higher she can't openly teach them without possibly endangering herself but she'll teach anyone with interest and she'll be posting flyers in the Station so people can ICly find out about it regardless of their alliance. She just wants to spread magic.

2) The way magic works in Lunar is that most people are born with some talent for it, even if they're considered normal humans, and Lunar is technically a post-apocalypse future. thing. of earth so it's entirely likely people from earth or other places could have latent magical talent as far as the way Lunar magical talent works. at least that's the assumption I'm working on since it makes the most sense from the background of the story. (tldr it says humans and magical beings were able to coexist and learn from each other)

... Wow I totally missed this reply, sorry for the late response!

If Castle is able, he will definitely want to learn magic. In his impracticality he would probably want to learn something like "Accio" from Harry Potter so it can enable his laziness, but what he really needs to learn is some basic offensive and defensive magic. He's going to be working as a private investigator which means he that he could most definitely get himself into dangerous situations. And he's neither a young man anymore nor can he have a gun here, so he's going to need some other way of dealing with people if they mess with him.

No worries! I'm always a bit late myself.

But yeah she knows different types of magic and you can look at them here in the comments but offensive and some defensive magic is what she specializes in. She mostly teaches offensive but if he expresses interest in defensive she'll bring that out too! (She's totally a "the best defense is a good offense" type.)

Hiro is going to be doing a post about the Magic Guild soon if you want him to learn that way! If not we can arrange something since she'll be putting up flyers all over neutral areas too like the Station.

Ok, awesome. I'll look for the post and then I'll work it into his timeskip timeline. And I'll have to decide what area of magic I'd like him to learn. Thanks!

ACTUALLY slight change of plans in that the post is going to be Unseelie locked since the Guild second in command doesn't trust Seelie But!!! Lemina does so she'll still be passing out fliers at the Station and talking up people if you want me to set up something for that. She'd be happy to accept him.

Ok. When about during the timeskip will she be starting her classes?

Probably in March! She'll be going between a lot of places for classes, including Redgate and the Barrel's new location and the Station! Do any of those work for you? She'll always have fliers up in those locations as well as fliers on her so the conversation would be easy to start!
