Timeskip CR Meme

While similar to the CR meme in some ways, the fields within the text area below are meant to facilitate planning and plotting so that by the time the CR meme rolls around everyone has a much clearer idea of what all has been happening and in what direction they are heading, especially as the timeskip looms large on the horizon.

Should you need it, you can always refer to the re-posted Timeskip Calendar for ideas! Characters have already been starting up businesses (coffee shops, playhouses, a P.I. office, even a business selling non-locket network devices!) so be sure to check it out!

If you intend to opt out of the timeskip, please PM the mod account with the dates/nature of your opt out!

OPT OUT ROSTER
+ VICTORIA -- Lost between fairy rings -- End of may through all of timeskip
+ NUADA -- Enchanted sleep -- End of July through all of timeskip
+ BUCKY -- Enchanted sleep -- All of timeskip
+ MARY -- Enchanted sleep -- All of timeskip
+ DAVE SUTLER -- Enchanted sleep -- All of timeskip
+ JOHN GRIMM -- Turned into a bear by the White Hart -- Dec, Jan, and Feb
+ STEVE -- Enchanted sleep -- Most of timeskip, awaking Feb
+ LUCIFER -- Turned into a cat by the White Hart -- Only for July
+ FLORA -- Turned into a wolf by the White Hart -- Only for Dec, Jan
+ TYRION -- Lost between fairy rings -- All of timeskip

As a note, please remember the following:
  • There will be no new shardbearers, no monthly events (and perforce no boons). Monarch contact will be limited to include shardbearers highly ranked within their court.

  • Fairy rings will be inoperable. Powers, abilities, and boons may be used to allow for fast-travel. Otherwise, characters must hoof it to where they wish to go.

  • Lockets will not work. Characters would need traditional means to keep in touch, or need to fashion (or purchase) their own alternative means of magical communication. These alternative devices can be used on the network alongside lockets, and can be fashioned to interact with lockets.

  • Border violence will be the norm. Small incursions and raids into enemy territory will be frequent. Unseelie in Seelie territory, and vice versa, will be hunted by patrols/town guards/etc. NPC guards may unexpectedly drop into threads where characters are in enemy territory.

  • Boons all perform to their original specifications. None are depowered or vanished, though all would show the signs of age as appropriate for the passage of time.

  • Influence and quests would continue to be given and rewarded as normal (one quest per player per ooc month), for our OOC sanity. PCs who are able to give quests are encouraged to have an expanded docket of them at the ready.

So, without further ado!

oops, sorry! they're horrible great big moths with hallucinogenic wings that fix all sentient beings in place when they look at them, unless said sentient being is like--godlike weird, and I mean very weird. I suspect all PCs are, by virtue of being playable, susceptible (unless they have some special, very strong guard against mental coercion). once you're stuck, the moth will...stick its proscobis into your mouth and suck out your consciousness. physically, you're left completely intact, but utterly and irreparably without brain function.

also you can't just close your eyes because they'll delicately reach out with their horrible skinny little child-hands and pry your eyelids apart.

:c

they produce dreamshit as a kind of...milk? for their young. ingested by sentient creatures, it gives you a hell of a trip in which you tumble through people's dreams. the brucolac is currently quizzing the jabberwock on how the hell to control them.

well... i guess since their personas are manifestations of their psyche that they use in defense and stuff... we might actually be able to swing something? or maybe at least give them an initial resistance to it. or. help them keep their eyes closed. they've been known to manifest in times of extreeeeeeeeme duress and it's what keeps their souls and stuff from being eaten by shadows... so... we shall have to see. i'd have to brush up on my purse owning lore more than half assedly remembering things from wikis.

also what the fuck is your canon, bruc

it's possible! I say pass the question along to the mods; it may just become relevant post-timeskip 8)

bas-lag is a lovely place, and there is a reason the brucolac canonically lives in the middle of the fucking ocean in a city which is constantly on the run from other cities.

this makes me wonder if personas might have a resistance to this. afaik they're considered the gods/goddesses/demons/heroes of their relative stories, only in different form ( SMT IS FUCKING WEIRD, MAN ). and yukari has two spells in canon ( they're capped here ) that ward off status effects and the like — me patra and charmdi. me patra dispells panic and calms allies; charmdi can actually prevent mind control of any kind.

i can ask the mods more in depth about it, but who knows!! this could open avenues for plotting after the timeskip. :3

by all means, ask the mods! to clarify though, when I say godlike--I mean idk whether, for instance, the Outsider would count, because his psyche is, while inhuman, shaped by the time he's spent with humans/tied to humans, and makes a bit of sense by human standards. (I...think. HI GADGETS TALKING FOR YOUR CHARACTER.) In canon, they uh...talk to the Ambassador for Hell (hi, bas-lag is weird too) and the 'demons' don't have a strange enough sentience to resist slakemoths based purely on their type of brainpower. (though exactly what these 'demons' are is up for debate, it's very clear that they function in a way which is in some way intelligible to humans.) the reason I mention gods is because there's a subplot involving a massive multi-dimensional spider thing called a Weaver which speaks in riddles and walks across worlds for inscrutable reasons who can look at slakemoths. c:

HOWEVER, it is totally possible to hunt them down; if not with spells, then with mirrors, with blindfolds and magical senses, with all sorts! brucolac will recommend searching for mirrored helmets and learning to fight while blind, just in case.

...hell, he may have some npcs undergo...drastic measures.

OHHH okay!! thank you for this info! this'll make it easier to present to the mods for their verdict and stuff. /o/

cries those poor npcs
