This one is one of my favorites.

 the share my past meme

1. Post some video clips, passages, comic pages, or whatever that depicts some moments from your character's past. It can be something silly, something serious, whatever you want. (Please link them and don't embed them for easier browsing. Also warn accordingly.)

2. Now everyone can see it, oh no!

3. Comment around, react ICly. Have fun!

Alyosha consigned thousands of civilians, her lover included, to die for the sake of a successful military maneuver. It succeeded and saved the Athena and her people from certain death, but she was stripped of her admiralcy and demoted to lieutenant after a lengthy stay in solitary confinement during the military investigation. She was released back into active service while on her literal deathbed, having exceeded the life expectancy of 99% of most other engineered soldiers (who perished young in war or as a result of organ failure due their genetic enhancements), among the last three in her class of 100,000. She was captured by imps and brought to the drabwurld on the eve of a great battle mere days before biology would have naturally ended her life.

You were punished for a successful campaign?

I made unpopular tactical decisions which sacrificed a significant portion of the civilian fleet.

The success came at too high a cost. But at the time, and after it in my opinion, there were no better options.

The outcome is all that matters, and sacrifices will always have to be made. Your superiors were idiots.

I don't think they were idiots. I think that they were clever; that it was designed to help the civilian population move beyond the tragedy. Assigning blame and punishment as a broad catharsis.

And you're right; the outcome is all that matters, and all I... wanted, want, is to serve. As long as I succeeded, none of the rest matters.
