The Timeskip Check-In Meme

With the game entering the second half of the timeskip, so many characters are getting involved in a lot of different things and changing in so many ways, not to mention changing things in the Drabwurld. But with so much activity, it's hard to know what's really going on and who's doing what. This meme is designed to not only to update the playerbase of what your character is up to, but also plot out anything you'd like to accomplish and thread out during the second half.

Character name: Gendry Baratheon
Canon: ASOIAF
About your character (optional): Disgruntled bastard son of a king who's spent his life as a smith, but happens to be a knight as well. He's been in the Drabwurld since the game started (two IC years once the skip is ended) and has made no special efforts to try and make a name for himself. He's noted as one of the few shardbearers to be apprenticed in Troichean Beinn and the only non-dwarf to learn the techno-magic that the dwarves use.

Businesses/titles your character has: Ser, Master (of smithing), Shield of Cothromach.


What has your character accomplished during the timeskip so far? Breaking a woman's heart and spending most of the timeskip in Troichean Beinn finishing his apprenticeship and working on the Doorway To The Beyond.

What are they doing for the second half so far? Returning to the Cothromach to establish a second Smith's Rings where the dwarves will be able to practice their techno-magic in a second location under the auspices of the King Under The Mountain. Gendry will be traveling by sea and through Treun to make his way there.

What would you like to accomplish for them during the second half of the timeskip? Reestablishing himself in the Cothromach, reuniting with old friends, and ultimately (and reluctantly) entangling himself in the city politics.

Is there any specific kind of CR you're seeking during the timeskip? Since he has no network access or fast travel - just anyone in the area!


Anything else? Although most characters are Team Neutral, Gendry's own feelings take it a step further. His own sympathies lie with the natives and not with his fellow shardbearers. Having spent a year with the anti-shardbearer sentiment in Troichean Beinn and living a lifetime as a peasant, he's not far off from returning to his Brotherhood Without Banners roots of taking out his own shard and engaging in shardbearer assassinations.

Given that Dorian has sworn himself to act as Sansa's bloody shadow hand, I'd love to build up CR between these two!

Yes! Aly was telling me about this thread, so there will be something interesting to be had there. Prior to the skip, Gendry was Sansa's go to guy for almost everything. With Dorian slipping into part of that role, it will be... interesting!

Definitely! I know Gendry has a 'I'm baaaack' post up, not sure if there's any capacity in which you'd like them to encounter there or if you'd prefer it for another venue/different circumstances?
