Happy 1 Year Love Meme

So in addition to two memes already up, I figure we might as well have a third celebrating the fact the game's been open for a year. We've done so much collectively, had an entire damn battle, literally changed the map, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. We may as well take a minute or two to bask in what we've done together!
i. Comment
ii. Leave love, talk about good memories, link to old threads you're proud of, gif-train if you want
iii. Have fun

Here's our 20 characters that have been there from day one! We have plenty of other players who have been here the whole time as well, but here's a nice sampling of our tenured characters who will be exiting the timeskip with two years under their belt!

Goddamn I'm still impressed with the retention rate.

I've only been in game for half of that time and I was apprehensive about joining because of previous game experiences but each is seriously one of the warmest, kindest games I've ever had the pleasure of being in. thank you all for making mine and Merida's stay here worth every minute ♥
SHOUT OUT TO YOU. YES, YOU.
I just really really want to thank literally everyone in this game, from our incredibly talented and kind mods to our welcoming and ridiculously creative playerbase, you guys are insanely awesome. Each is a little bit intimidating to come into as a newbie, because there is so much going on at any given moment and it would be all too easy to get locked out of involvement by sheer virtue of how big this game is, but that has not at all been the case for me.
You have all been so lovely and eager to help make things happen, whether it's explaining the million and a half questions I come up with every day or plotting out the next silly thing to get rolling. It is seriously such a wonderful thing to have the privilege of being a part of, most especially in a big game with a big plot and a big playerbase. You make it so so easy to feel at home here.
And a super huge shoutout to the mods, because goddamn. Like, seriously. I am at a loss for words in awe of how much time, effort, and creativity y'all put into running this beast. You have kept your doors wide open for anyone to step in and move in any direction they want, and you're super patient and sweet and just the right amount of monstrous along the way. Thank you so much for all the energy and love you pour into this game, it really shows and I am ceaselessly grateful.
OKAY I GOTTA JET NOW BUT I LOVE YOU ALL OKAY I LOVE YOU OODLES AND OODLES

Everyone in this game is incredible and so creative, so open to doing things and exploring the plot and the world, so open to ideas and torture and hilarity and I have never felt so lucky to have been in a game! I really love you all so much and I am so glad that I've been able to be a part of a game that's so amazing and beyond what I ever imagined. It's a dream come true and I've met so many lovely, beautiful people that are some of my best friends, so thank you for that!
Please never stop letting me throw myself at you and thank you so much for giving me the room to do so many different things and develop characters and explore so much. I love you!

I don't have any fancy gifs on me but pretend there is one here that appropriately expresses how I feel :*
and now the text version of the really loving drunk person in a bar
Since then, I can only look back at where this game started and be amazed. Not only am I simply floored by the worldbuilding in this game (literally, in several cases!) I cannot overstate enough how solid this playerbase is. I have had the time of my life plotting with people here, I have been floored by some of the stops pulled by this game. I remember the first Reynard log, where the motherfucker tried to Redwedding a chunk of our Game of Thrones cast and laughing myself stupid over the narrative decision+the characters it was happening to. And then you know, learning to go "fucking Reynard" which might as well be one of the game's tagline. (Or at least the tagline for that plot.)
Fucking Reynard brings me to the next point though, and that is the metaplot for this game plus the NPCs. These characters are incredibly lively, and the plots they give us have provided some of the best events of this game. Hats off to everyone involved with Reynard from November onwards, because it was a beautiful piece of storytelling. Having that final defeat of Reynard felt like a true victory, and in a game that revels in twists and turns, it was a nice thing to have something final. Cheers to our plot-mod for making this, and other plots, possible.
But let's sidebar that, because the players involved with February's war planning deserve their own round of applause. Saber's and Lancelot's muns did planning above and beyond what a game could ask of players, and they (plus the mods) gave us something that felt intense and real and with painfully high stakes. The set up and the effort that went into it can't be emphasized enough, and I can't begin to imagine how differently things might have gone otherwise.
Everyone's contributed so much to this game, with locations, with character arcs that impact the metaplot, by simply doing things in this world and interacting with it.
I'm so glad that this game appeared when it did. I am so grateful for the playerbase that it has, with everyone being so game to explore. And I am very, very proud of the past year's worth of play.
Cheers to the next one and shit getting even more real.

i've brought in three characters i've never played before! and to see luke grow as i get to explore the facets of a dude who is seen as a one-note villain from a first pov book to being able to get away from the honour jokes and show everyone that zuko is a pretty honourable guy to being able to try and explore the very difficult and intricate layers of katherine, it's been an incredible writing experience! honestly, i've never been this involved before -- the fact that we have a mod team that encourages everyone to get involved and to grab a piece of that pie has been such a new experience for me. i think that's pretty amazing.
the playerbase has been consistently amazing to me for the last year. i'm glad that i've stumbled upon certain people and have grown close to them -- and am growing close to a few of you now! awkward tree is a pretty friendly place, and i'm grateful to those who said "jade, jump on in!" when it came to getting involved in group metaplot activities. as someone who has lost some interest in the type of rp games i've been in for the last few years, i'm glad to say awkward tree is the one that has kept me in game rp. thank you so much to everyone who i have written with thus far! i'm so appreciative of you being a part of my character's journey and mine as a rper!
thanks for being amazing trees, guys. we've built a pretty cool forest.

I'm kinda on the sidelines right now, but I'm going to be trying to get more involved after the timeskip. Zhaneel has found her footing here at Each and it's been ever so lovely getting her there.
Thank you all for being fantastic and know that, even if I don't tag all of you, I read EVERY post that goes up and am just in awe of all of you.
Thank you for letting me be a part (albeit small) of it all!! <3
