Honestly, it depends on what you want from the setting, imo! Laura (depending on canonpoint, of course) is more likely to go with the flow of what's happening around her. She's not necessarily easy to manipulate in that way, but she is willing to buy into the idea that she has to kill people and that's what her role is. I wouldn't necessarily call her a passive character, but she won't be as much of a mover and shaker. That said, Billy Kaplan would definitely know who she is and maybe try to help. (There are in-universe wikis, so I assume she'd be on there.) She'd be more of a blunt force type and figure it out and pick up people along the way.

Carol Danvers, on the other hand, would probably hate all of this. She'd look in askance at the whole "kill each other to take a gem out of them," and she'd probably be very dedicated to looking at things. But you can also play with Carol's addictions a bit, to drinking, flying, and power, since the setting can really play into these, and really have her self-examine in the wake of that.

SO! For me, I would recommend you choose based on the tack you prefer: someone more reactive (Laura) or someone more aggressive (Carol). I don't know which one you feel would be easier to get you into RP again!

I WOULD LOVE BOTH for that matter. Carol is my personal favorite of the two, but I really, really adore Laura a lot. I can see both of them having really amazing direction and plot in game. THIS IS EXCITING SO if you test drive I will tag both if you bring both to it /o/

This is definitely helpful and a really well thought out reply. I would love to test them both out! I think I'm leaning a bit towards Laura at this point, since I'm more comfortable with her and, as you said, she wouldn't have her hands in everything and it might be a bit more relaxed to get into the swing of things. I'd also looove to play with Billy! On the other hand, Carol would be easier to get CR with and stick into plots once I get settled, but she's such a popular character with way more history and part of me is afraid I'd screw her up. But man, I also love her aggression and emotional side. They're pretty much opposites, actually. Sigh!

So I think my plan is to test both, and then if you have any crit or one you think I'm doing a better job on, I would really love some honest critique. Then from there I can see which one is clicking more.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it!

I'll let you know for sure! Laura is hard, but I can actually see her really working in a game like Each after some more thought just because most settings don't give her an impetus to do things, and that kind of comes with the ... setting. So that'd be really cool, especially if she really came into her own and started flexing her own decisions. I'd love to see her grow here.

ANYWAY I will look out for you, this is super exciting. Thank you for looking at this!!!
