TEST DRIVE MEME #7

TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping to EACHDRAIDH? Why not give the setting a test run here! OPTIONAL SCENARIOS 01. ARRIVING IN THE DRABWURLD. The Seelie and Unseelie courts welcome you not with mirthful revelry, this time around dear friends. There is a seriousness in the air, though the food is still hearty and the imps still mischievous. After you have been briefed on your purpose here, you will find an endless feast and a night filled with entertainment to placate your concerns. Mingle with new arrivals, sneak down the castle halls and make sure your eyes are always on your glass; fairies and imps have no bias when it comes to tricks! 02. THE STATION. Looking for a little slice of home? The Station gives you all that and more. Take advantage of the wifi, have a cup of fairy-brewed coffee (the one they didn't spit in) or sit back and relax on the patio. You can even move your things into one of the available rooms! 03. WILDCARD. Your own scenario! Explore the Drabwurld or simply take advantage of your Locket! Be mindful, though -- the monarchs are watching and cross court communication should be done with the utmost secrecy. |

[ It's said with a wry little smile, though. She's been fighting for so long that she feels like she doesn't have much hope about how much longer she's going to have left here. John had lost his shard, half her friends have gone home, and now people are out there that want to kill her.
It's deadly, and she's afraid. ]
But at least we can fight, can't we?

[She thinks a moment, and then grins, wide but lopsided, only with one corner of her mouth.]
It's the people who laugh in death's face who end up with the good luck, after all.
no subject
[ Which is sad. But Hermione does smile, a little sheepish. ]
I wouldn't do that. He might laugh back - or he'll eat you.

[Rider shrugs. As for the rest, well, she's never been a pacifist. Fighting shouldn't have to be the only choice, sure, but it's fun, so why not. She enjoys it too much to quit.]
no subject
[ She shakes her head, crossing her arms around herself - not uneasy, but careful, breathing out a noise. ]
It's just a matter of keeping in mind what you fight for, I think.

The only thing about laughing at death is it'll keep coming back more often. But if you already cheated it once, you're doing pretty good, you can't lose either way.
Well, that's what I think anyway. It's served me well, even if my real death was laughably pathetic. At least it wasn't all those close calls before, must have gotten an extra forty years at least before it caught up.

[ She does hesitate for a moment before she closes her eyes, shifting, then looking up at Rider again. ]
I'm sorry if this is rude but - you said your name was Rider? Does that mean you're a... Servant?
no subject
That I am, what's rude about it? It's just facts. You don't seem like a Master, so do you know other Servants here, then?
no subject
[ She nods her head, smile softening a little when she knows it's a little more welcome. ]
I know of a few, yes.
[ She won't mention names, but her hand twitches and brushes over the ring around her neck. ]
no subject
Different with everyone I guess, but it's no big deal to me. Especially considering that war isn't here.
[Hell, why not, she's proud to admit her name, it should bring awe, and she loves that.]
They used to call me "El Draque".
no subject
[ Not that close - her hand drops from the ring, sharply. Gilgamesh's blood is inside that ring and she doesn't want to draw too much attention to it. ]
El Draque... Drake?
no subject
Yep, Francis Drake.
no subject
[ Oh, oh wow. Hermione's eyes widen; she might be more magical than muggle these days but even she knows her history... Or the history of her world, where Drake was a man and did quite a lot of incredible things. ]
That's amazing! Drake. No wonder you have so many stories to tell.

[She laughs good and hard, apparently quite pleased with herself for it, hands resting on her hips.]
Really it pretty much goes with the territory of being a Heroic Spirit, but I've got to say, mine are pretty damn good.

[ And Hermione can't take her eyes off her, enthralled by the idea of all of this. ]
Honestly, the only story I've read was in the form of an Epic, so it's much nicer to hear it from the person's mouth.
[ Though she imagines that Gilgamesh would tell her everything if she asked him -- and wouldn't shut up for hours. ]
no subject
An Epic would be pretty cool, but without the account of someone who was really there, what's the point, right?

I know all about media misrepresentation, trust me. Actual eyewitness accounts are almost the only thing worth trusting in these sorts of things.
