[ Hermione's eyes trail over the stranger for a moment before she smiles, softening a little and nodding her head. Her hand lifts, drawing back, and she is nothing but soft and polite as she settles back. Regal she might appear, but Hermione is nothing more than a kind and friendly face. ]

That's good. You're new, right?

[his body language is oddly relaxed for someone who's just been stolen to another world, looking at her straight-on and steady as he replies. perhaps the more jovial nature of party is really having the intended effect on him, but it seems more likely that he's just not the very easily flustered sort.]

I have just arrived to this place, if that is what you mean.

['new' is not really a word he'd use to describe himself in any other situation; he certainly wasn't created yesterday.]

[ It is a little odd, she thinks how calm he is, but it's not the first time someone has arrived in the Drabwurld and been oddly relaxed with it. She had learned quite quickly and now she was making a life here, a good one. ]

Ah. Welcome to the Drabwurld, then.

[ She holds out her hand, smile still in place. ]

[he takes her hand, not actually moving to shake it ... just kind of holding it there, mirroring her movement. maybe he doesn't know what a handshake is? but he's not acting like it's awkward or foreign to him. or maybe that's just more of his almost unnaturally calm demeanor.]

I am Enkidu.

[ That makes her stop. It makes her stop and pause, her eyes flicking over him before she breathes out a little noise. It's hard for her to do anything but gaze at him before something soft overcomes her and she smiles. ]

Are you Gilgamesh's Enkidu?

[there's a visible change in his expression when she speaks that name, his eyes widening just so as the edges of his mouth quirk up, an almost unconscious smile. there's something like a tentative excitement in his voice when he answers, now.]

I have been called the King of Uruk's true friend, yes. Do you happen to know him?

[ Oh. The utter joy and relief she feels, the swell of it, makes her practically beam at Enkidu as she nods her head. It hadn't been that long ago that she had read the Epic, really understand what Gilgamesh had meant when he spoke about his friendship, and to see him here, alive and in front of her...

She's so happy for him that it leaves her chest a little tight and aching. ]

I do! We've been friends for the last year or so now. [ 'Friends', of sorts. It had taken a little while to reach that point, to get over the sharp arguments, but they'd done it and she appreciated him for it. ] I'm so glad you're here, he's going to be so happy - have you seen him yet?
