Mingle with new arrivals, sneak down the castle halls and make sure your eyes are always on your glass; fairies and imps have no bias when it comes to tricks! 02. THE STATION. Looking for a little slice of home? The Station gives you all that and more. Take advantage of the wifi, have a cup of fairy-brewed coffee (the one they didn't spit in) or sit back and relax on the patio. You can even move your things into one of the available rooms! 03. WILDCARD. Your own scenario! Explore the Drabwurld or simply take advantage of your Locket! Be mindful, though -- the monarchs are watching and cross court communication should be done with the utmost secrecy. |
never ever +_+ terra best prepare for some awkward (poorly hidden) staring tho
either way, it's the hilt of an odd looking sword that catches his attention, even if cloud tries not to be too obvious about it. people here are armed, that much he's noticed, but he's never quite seen anything like what's peeking from behind this terra person... huh. color him interested, despite how he barely looks it.
some seconds pass before cloud lets his eyes drift back to terra's face, and nods. ]
Cloud.
[ as for the bit about the faeries, it seems entirely possible from what he's learned in the past couple of hours. ]
I've never... dealt with faeries before. [ not anything like this, at any rate. ]
most excellent :3! (you're going down, Cloud)
[No handshake then, but that's fine. Terra retracts his hand, placing it in his hip before he realises that the other is staring at his keyblade. It's garnered him enough looks over the past couple of months that it's a familiar stare, but by the looks of it Cloud's a little more than simply interested. It makes his lips quirk a little more before he knows exactly which direction to take this conversation in.]
It's called a keyblade. Usually I can summon it but, ah, the monarchs decided that wasn't going to be possible,
[He's a little bitter about it, but it was what it was. Taking away what made the keyblade special and turning it into a regular sword left him with a rotten taste in his mouth, but he pulls it from the sheath anyway. The blade is thick as it is long (almost like a buster but not quite), and he holds it up for the other to see.]
They do that. I've heard worse but at the moment there's nothing flashy about it. It's just a sword.
(huffhuff oh pls)
Keyblade? [ huh. ] Interesting for a sword.
[ the fact that it's summonable is something, too. and not like one he's ever seen before. it definitely resembles something closer to a key than a blade in cloud's opinion, but he keeps that comment to himself as well. as long as it gets the job done, right? though he has to wonder what kind of world requires its warriors take up a giant keys rather than the conventional blade.
...he'd ask, but cloud has to remind himself he's not here to get familiar with people. let alone to make friends. the next question is almost more to himself than terra, as well. ]
If they want us to win this war, why take a weapon's power?
no subject
[Though he'd been unsure about asking for it anyway, considering things, he actually had gotten the Master's chess set. Something small to test it out. Next time he'd be sure to ask for something more, like the keyblade's powers or his magic. He lets Cloud examine the keyblade a little more before placing it back in the sheathe sitting on his back.
Having taken notice of the curiosity, Terra inclines his head in the direction of the outside, in case the other man wanted to get some fresh air still. They were near a doorway but it was still crowded, and he'll wait for the body language if Cloud wants to go.]
You fight with a sword?

fresh air is still very much needed, and once the keyblade is out of inspection range, cloud glances over to where they can slip out. turning, he starts to head out, knowing terra will follow. ]
Mm. [ cloud nods once. ] Six, to be specific.
[ six blades that make up a bigger blade-- the first tsurugi. but with the sword assembled and resting in its black harness, it might seem like he's joking... six separate blades had come more than handy through the few years since his adventures, and after meteorfall, using the buster sword hadn't felt right anymore, despite it having been handed to him. it served better by its rightful owner, not with someone who had stolen memories to make it through tough days. that, and its time had been over, its mission finished. there had been only one place for it. zack had deserved a grave.
or at least that's how cloud rationalizes it all in his head.
he looks to terra once they're outside. ]
Probably sounds excessive.
no subject
[It's an admittance that he'd give only a few people, following after Cloud with his hands relaxed in his pockets, but not too close. He separates himself from the other man enough to give them both the space they want and need. Though he relied on his strength, there was something to be said about missing most of his magic and skill set. Still, he eyes the sword on Cloud's back, tilting his head as he mulls it over.
Before he realizes with a start where he's seen a sword like that before.
For a moment he pauses, wondering whether or not he should say anything. Zack never mentioned anyone else having anything like his sword, not that he asked; he was going to let the other man tell him his story in his own time. For now, he would do the same with Cloud, and relaxes his features.]
Want to spar?
no subject
admittedly, the moment he'd seen the keyblade, cloud has also wanted to see thing the thing in action. thankfully, terra has the same idea, and cloud is nodding once at the offer to spar. it'll be a distraction from the rest of this, from the welcome party still in full blast within the court. a chance to clear his mind some, and to simply do what he knows he's fairly good at.
cloud draws his sword with one, practiced motion, the large, long blade slipping free from his back and swinging to his side. he holds it with certainty and a grip of someone who knows the ins and outs of swordsmanship well. of course, nothing will prove that more than actual sparring. ]
I'll go easy on you.
[ most likely, anyway. ]
no subject
Terra pulls his keyblade free with a bit of a less practiced tug, still getting used to the fact that he couldn't just summon it to his hand. It irritated him a bit, the fact that one of the keyblade's powers had been taken, but he bit it down in favor of taking up a familiar stance.]
Ready when you are.
no subject
not wasting any time, or letting much else be said, cloud leaps into action. first tsurugi, all six blades in place, is held right by his side, then gets brought upwards in a wide swing. in a way it's odd to think that just some time prior he'd been fighting a newly resurrected sephiroth, fighting for his life and for the lives of his friends-- and maybe the planet, too. and now he's... sparring.
still, it, at least, feels good, right. the moment he's back in action like this, his mind clears up of all the unnecessary, and maybe it's that feeling alone which makes cloud realizes -- distantly -- that there might be a good reason why the faeries had chosen to bring him here to fight a war.
but rather than dwell on that, he concentrates on terra for now. it'll be interesting to see what kind of skills he has. ]
