TEST DRIVE MEME #8

TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping to EACHDRAIDH? Why not give the setting a test run here! OPTIONAL SCENARIOS 01. ARRIVING IN THE DRABWURLD. The Seelie and Unseelie courts welcome you not with mirthful revelry, this time around dear friends. There is a seriousness in the air, though the food is still hearty and the imps still mischievous. After you have been briefed on your purpose here, you will find an endless feast and a night filled with entertainment to placate your concerns. Mingle with new arrivals, sneak down the castle halls and make sure your eyes are always on your glass; fairies and imps have no bias when it comes to tricks! 02. THE STATION. Looking for a little slice of home? The Station gives you all that and more. Take advantage of the wifi, have a cup of fairy-brewed coffee (the one they didn't spit in) or sit back and relax on the patio. You can even move your things into one of the available rooms! 03. WILDCARD. Your own scenario! Explore the Drabwurld or simply take advantage of your Locket! Be mindful, though -- the monarchs are watching and cross court communication should be done with the utmost secrecy. |
confusion is the name of his game so whats one more kid!!
So you... know me from another world? [ what.
cloud knows there are other worlds involved, sure, yeah. that part even somewhat -- but only somewhat -- makes sense. but for this sora kid to know him? he's not sure what to make of that, but cloud refuses to let the usual wariness crawl its way up his spine. ]
Unless I somehow forgot... [ he mumbles in another moment, casting his expression off to the side for a second or two. after all, if there's one thing cloud can never really rely on, it's his own memories. ]
Cloud has enough identity and memory issues without this. Sorry Cloud.
[At the very least, Sora tries to reassure him. Doesn't seem as put out by this as he could be. It's still kind of a familiar face. Besides, if he befriended Cloud previously he's sure it wouldn't be that difficult to forge another relationship with this one here. Even if they might be different, their heart is likely the same, or similar enough. He gives a smile, hands behind his head, tilting slightly.]
I doubt it's your memories. I got the same with Tink. I didn't mean to confuse you like this though.
just take is easy on him!!
at the apology cloud only sighs, then he shakes his head. when he speaks up, it's with a much more sure look. ]
It's alright. This is all pretty confusing. [ the whole thing about other worlds and versions of himself is just a fraction of everything-- and really not the main concern here, at the end of the day. what's been laid out before him is a war of faeries and whatnot, and a bunch of strangers. he should probably just concentrate on that for now.
speaking of... ]
They must be desperate, dragging kids to war.
[ how old are you. ]
When does Cloud ever get it easy though. Poor Cloud.
[Says the kid with the giant key who seems way too used to the idea of other worlds and traveling between them for this to be somewhat normal. He'll get to the war stuff. Eventually. Probably not. Likely by attempting to befriend the Unseelie and stop wars via Friendship Speeches or something. Nobody who knows him would be surprised.....
But then he gives a shrug, almost a pout at that.]
I'm fourteen. I can take care of myself well enough.
[As if anyone is really going to believe him on that. Not likely. But he can hope. And dream.
Yeah, Cloud totally wouldn't buy that at all.]

fourteen, though. cloud wonders if he can find someone who will take sora back home to his world, away from all of this. no fourteen year old should be part of any war. but then again, he'd joined shinra at the same age, and had become a lowly infantryman, and if there's one thing shinra had never hesitated with, it was throwing its own people into the line of fire. so, there isn't a whole lot of room for him to judge. ]
If you say so. [ still gonna keep an eye on the kid in case trouble finds him.
either way, he pauses after that, then tilts his head somewhat to the side as he looks at sora. ]
What's the name of the world you came from?
no subject
[Seeming rather confident, almost cocky in that reassurance for a moment there. And then that's distracted and replaced with something more fond, perhaps almost bittersweet in his tone and expression as he shifts slightly, head tilting to one side as he lowers his gaze for a brief moment.
The Islands. He can still vividly recall the darkness enveloping them. Destroying them. The Heartless, how terrifying that had been. How helpless he was back then without any idea what was really going on. But last he remembers of the Islands was watching them form again, reborn where he'd left Kairi. He'd be back. Eventually.]
Destiny Islands. Though I guess not many would recognize that. But besides home I went to a lot of other worlds too.
no subject
...How do you travel between worlds? [ the furthest he's gone from the planet is space, and that had been a very short trip with one specific goal before they'd come crashing right back down onto the surface. the only other instance he's really heard of any traveling beyond their corner of space was about the great calamity from the skies, jenova, who had made a thing of her world traveling and devouring.
but that's something cloud would rather not think too hard about. ]
I wouldn't have thought it possible... if not for this. [ this. him being here. standing in another world. it's crazy. ]
no subject
[It was always something of a daydream. Something he and Riku always talked about the vague possibility of but never really taking it seriously. Until Kairi arrived. Ever since then it took on a whole new life, that there was confirmation of other worlds out there where she had come from, even if she didn't recall. They just never anticipated any of what happened when they actually did leave.]
no subject
I know someone who would be interested in a ship that can travel between worlds. Doubt he's here though.
[ cid would be more than interested in any kind of ship honestly, but whatever this gummi ship contraption might be would probably take the cake. ]
no subject
[Because of course it was Cid, this probably won't surprise Cloud in the least. Still, Sora's also perhaps grateful for Cid looking out for him upon his initial arrival in Traverse Town, even if he might not outright say it. Grateful to all of them, really.
There's a small smile as he raises a hand behind his head, as best he can with the keyblade in the other.]
I guess hoping we'd find one or even enough Gummi blocks to make one here would be a bit hopeful, huh?
no subject
it leaves questions dangling at the tip of his tongue, but cloud swallows them back, saving them for another time. there are too many people to ask about, but too many chances to ruin the relatively nice atmosphere that's fallen over them, too. ]
Probably, yeah. [ no doubt someone would have already done as much were it possible... but at the same time, cloud knows a lot of age-old secrets could be just below their feet, waiting to be discovered by the right people. maybe a way to travel worlds is one of them. ]
But I'll keep an eye out for any of these Gummi blocks just in case.
no subject
[Because even if it's a different Cid, surely at their core, they're similar enough. Still have that same love of technology, of flight, that dream of other worlds. It's familiar, almost bittersweet to consider. Even if they aren't exactly talking about the same Cid entirely, different memories, different experiences.
But there is a nod of agreement.]
Right! Thanks, Cloud. I don't suppose there's anything -- anyone you want me to keep an eye out for?
no subject
[ but only since it's hardly possible. given the chance, if he were to hear about it, cloud has little doubt cid would jump at the chance to try something of this sort. it makes him wonder why the faeries didn't pick someone with a little more sense of adventure than cloud.
oh well.
at the question, he hesitates for a clear moment, but then ends up shaking his head briefly. ] If they're here, I'll find them. [ not that he doesn't appreciate the offer of help, but... this is just something he has to do his own way. to make sure whatever ghosts he might think are around get separated from those who really are. ]
no subject
[The same way Cloud seems so familiar still, in spite of being different. Different experiences and memories. But the core, the heart that makes him 'Cloud' is still the same.
The Cloud he knew was pretty independent too, determined to go off on his own to find his light. So Sora isn't too surprised or upset when Cloud rejects the offer, giving a smile even through his shrug.]
If they are here, I'm sure you will. It might be more difficult if they're in that other Court, but....we'll manage.
[Because their hearts are connected, after all. From all the friends they've made, the experiences they've shared. Sora has to believe that. Not just for Cloud, but for himself too, if any of his friends are present.]
no subject
...still, for now he doesn't look too worried about it. ]
Difficult, maybe, but not impossible. [ not impossible by a long shot. a beat of silence follows before cloud glances off to the side. ] ...Might just have to break a few rules.
[ which, all things considered, is most likely bound to happen anyway. if the faeries want him to fight -- or other people in general -- they're going to have to bend a little. ]
no subject
[He isn't sure what exactly might determine which court someone ends up in. For all he knows, some of his friends might be over there in the Unseelie. There would have to be some way to find out, surely. People would want to know. To try help their friends. But he's not outright saying or encouraging this intentionally, he's just curious and concerned more than anything.]
