TEST DRIVE MEME #8

TEST DRIVE MEME

Considering apping to EACHDRAIDH? Why not give the setting a test run here!

OPTIONAL SCENARIOS

01. ARRIVING IN THE DRABWURLD.
The Seelie and Unseelie courts welcome you not with mirthful revelry, this time around dear friends. There is a seriousness in the air, though the food is still hearty and the imps still mischievous. After you have been briefed on your purpose here, you will find an endless feast and a night filled with entertainment to placate your concerns. Mingle with new arrivals, sneak down the castle halls and make sure your eyes are always on your glass; fairies and imps have no bias when it comes to tricks!

02. THE STATION.
Looking for a little slice of home? The Station gives you all that and more. Take advantage of the wifi, have a cup of fairy-brewed coffee (the one they didn't spit in) or sit back and relax on the patio. You can even move your things into one of the available rooms!

03. WILDCARD.
Your own scenario! Explore the Drabwurld or simply take advantage of your Locket! Be mindful, though -- the monarchs are watching and cross court communication should be done with the utmost secrecy.

"A better offer...?"

Scott has to consider that for a moment. They'd never really talked to Angela all that much, and his dad hadn't given him any indication that the Guardians are mercenary, per se. But she also wasn't there, as of the incident with the Black Vortext. He didn't think about it much at the time...but he's thinking about it now.

He might have an idea. A plan, for somewhere down the road, if he has to.

(It might be a terrible idea.)

"You mean, to convince you to fight for them?"

"To balance the service they ask of me," Angela says, though she's grown somewhat used to misunderstanding from Midgardians. "Nothing for nothing, Scott Summers. Everything has a price.

"I have no interest in being taken advantage of."

Thaaaaaaaat's interesting. Very interesting.

"And if they don't pay up, you won't deliver? Or, if someone makes a better offer, you'll fight for them instead."

That's not a question. Well, it's partially a question. It's him working through a thought process as well, however.
withoutprice: (Guardian Angels.)

She wonders at his curiosity—and what it is he thinks he may offer her, if his line of reasoning matches hers. There is no moral judgment in her speculation. If he has an interest in her service, then let him make an offer on it.

"If they do not pay me, then I have no obligation to them. I am no one's slave. If someone else makes an offer in the meantime... as I said, there is no obligation without payment."

It's a plan to be filed for later. But he thinks, maybe he'd at least have better leverage. After all, now he's got two universes worth of being-held-accountable to bargain with.

Hmm. Probably not the best way to put that at said later date.

There's a lot more questions he wants to ask, but it feels like that might be skirting too close to too personal. He'll think about coming back to them later.

"Do we owe you for helping us rescue Jean?"
withoutprice: (Archons.)

"The balance for that is upon the Guardians. If you owed me for that, you would know it."

She appreciates that he asked, though. Many would have taken her aid for granted, or they would have thought their gratitude enough to balance the scales.

Before this, she had very little impression of him. Of those the Guardians met, his personality had been easily overwhelmed in her memory.
evenslimmer: (okay this is better)

Hmmm. That's good to know. He's beginning to see the rules of how this works. And it makes sense. The X-Men didn't know about her to know to ask for her help. The Guardians took it upon themselves to help the X-Men. She'd been with the Guardians, so whatever she did on their behalf fell on that. But if it'd been her and her alone coming to their aid, even if they didn't ask...

"Do I owe you for asking you so many questions?"

"It is a lesson." She speaks levelly, and it's not all that hard to believe she sees herself as a teacher.

"What is the the proper way to repay a lesson, on Midgard?"
