It's a cool thought if he's honest with himself. It's one he's heard before in a few different ways but it doesn't make it any less true. He doesn't dare reach out to poke or prod at the flower just in case but he's curious about the rest of the statement.

"Kinda suits the mood of this place if you think about it. The whole 'surviving where you'd think things couldn't' atmosphere. But, uh, who's she?" And more importantly where is this man from that plants can't thrive?

"Mare, my wife. Pre-Ascension history was her passion and she found the world as we knew it wasn't what it always was. She always wanted to see the world green and the skies clear," he says and his expression turns to a bittersweet smile. "She didn't live to see her dream realized."
