Timezone: GMT +1
Tagging Habits: I'mmmm pretty slow, but at my fastest and most inspired, I can usually get in a few tags a day (usually during my weekends which are Friday/Saturday), but I'm definitely a backtagger. I tend to prefer brackets, but I'm quite flexible and will adapt to the person I'm tagging with.
RP preferences: I'm usually a fly by the seat of my pants kind of player and will go where the CR takes me, but I'm absolutely down with planning things too and then seeing how things pan out.
A little bit about you: I don't really engage with fandoms and am more than happy enjoying whatever it is I am currently enjoying in my little corner, and babbling about whatever holds my interest. I talk about my job, RP, TV shows, books and sometimes, sometimes comics, since I'm slowly, slowly dipping my toes into Marvel stuff. I'm also pretty shy, which is a bother and prevents me from reaching out to people as much as I want to — but I am working on that. :)
Character Info:
Character Name: James Flint
Series: Black Sails
Personality: A pirate with an exceedingly high opinion of himself (on one level, he totally earned it, on the other, seriously, it's a bit much). He's a sourpuss with a hidden vein of sass, hates nobility and royalty because:
a) he thinks of himself as a humanist and something of an anarchist
b) classism is something he's had to put up with a lot and eventually helped cause his downfall, so it's personal!!
Thinks he's all that and above weaknesses of the flesh and sundry bullshit. He's reckless and impulsive, but he hides it well beneath a snooty attitude (he calls it "aloof" and "cultured", lol Flint pls).
Court: Unseelie
Current location: Still living at Caer Scima, but he tends to move around quite a bit. Restless adventurous pirate is restless and adventurous.
Open Posts: Nnnnnot at the moment. I prefer to jump other people's posts :)
Current or future plans: Yes! Flint is exceedingly curious about the Cult of the Fox and I would love to have him look closer into that (and possibly get into some sort of trouble with the members :x). He also intends to get to know the Drabwurld's natives better (and possibly get in their good graces because he ~relates to them~) and pick some allies among them ...
Catch-up: Flint has sort of kind of helped ("helped") during the Banshee event — by which I mean, he speculated a lot on the Cult of the Fox, got a bunch of info from Waver which made him curious (and made him want to play the hero to the natives .......... ). He travelled on Sua's airship, learning how to navigate one of those and is currently discussing ways to get one for himself, because what's a pirate without a ship. He's also in cahoots with the Red Hand.
Desired CR: Any criminal activity, alliances with the potential for hideous betrayal later, tentative friendship (people who could possibly remind Flint that he might still have a soul underneath all the self-interest and lbh selfishness). People he can be digustingly pedantic with and talk ~culture~ and ~philosophy~ and, more importantly, how to overthrow governments. Or at least how to wreak general havoc on an undeserving upperclass (with maybe plans to act on these conversations). I would also love for him to meet / interact with Seelie people!
Shipping: Yea, always. Flint is terribly difficult to woo though, re:snooty and above all that shit. He's bi, so basically all goes.
Things to avoid: Nothing to avoid, bring it.

well, if Flint finds this out the hard way, aka accompanied by some actual backstabbing (i feel this can easily be arranged), the betrayal will indeed be deliciously hideous. if it comes up in casual conversation, Flint will just be a dick about and probably taunt and provoke Richard, like one does. how things go from there is anyone's guess though! (given their personalities, probably not very well, lbh ;>)

To be fair, at least he's not a terribly classist royal? Great-great-grandpa was a bastard born of a tanner's daughter after all. His worldview is very much 'doesn't matter where you come from as long as you can rise/if you want something take it.' All of his ancestors are upstarts. But he still doesn't respond well to provoking.
In semi-related news: I just stumbled upon the fact that Toby Stephens played Prince John in the BBC Robin Hood series a few years back. I may die. His facial expressions. The man is a treasure.

THEN AGAIN, THESE TWO MIGHT SURPRISE US. either way, i'll be happy.
actually, weirdly enough, Richard and Flint might actually have similar views on a number of things, it's the just the king part that would chafe with Flint (due to, you know, being a hypocrit bcs kings all suck, except if he becomes one, then they're ok - he mostly hates House Hanover because of the whole kicking him out of the Navy thing, not to mention, Thomas Hamilton, haha).

I do want to see Flint try to explain his beef against the crown to Richard. Whether he's out as a royal at the time or not. There's just so much potential for confusion in so many ways.

i mean hi, bellamy is too from the underclasses and harbors very strong anti authoritarian feelings!! he's also been involved with cult of the fox things, even once took part in the torture of one :'D i'd love to see how they might interact!
no subject
the upperclasses are douchebags, they can so use some overthrowing.
...torture a member of the cult you say, Flint will be very interested in hearing about that :> so yes, i would love for them to meet!
no subject
who gives them the right to be in charge tbh!!! but yeah he's not the biggest fan of the court system in place in the drabwurld lmao
excellentttt!! i'm not sure he'd talk about the torture right off the bat, but he would talk about the cult in some capacity for sure c: i'm aiming to get an open log up for september, if we wanna kick things off there? or if you're doing the same, i can come to you c:

a little time
oh i'm perfectly fine with hitting up your log — i'll be out of town for the first part of september (i'll be around just enough to tag some), so that works out perfectly for me :)

but ok cool!! it'll be for the whole month for the most part, so don't worry about timing on your end!
