TEST DRIVE MEME

Nature itself has shaped itself into tables, chairs, and long couches so that the new guests can rest. When they’re ready to call it a night, Shardbearers are brought to their court strongholds in a one-way trip by fairies and imps. 02. NETWORK Take advantage of your Locket! The network can be accessed by any Shardbearer with a locket or shardless characters with enchanted devices, and is a quick way to meet new people and discuss the state of the world. 03. WILDCARD. Your own scenario! Explore the Drabwurld! There are lots of places to go, and plenty of trouble to get into in them!

Arrival

Hey!

[At some point during the festivities you might spot a small child in a striped sweater chasing after a fairy. A fairy that seems to have grabbed something of theirs and is flitting around the party, with the child in hot pursuit.

Said child is not always particularly careful in their chase, though. They might duck in between legs tripping people up by accident, or else bump or brush past people. They do at least pause briefly, glancing back.]

Sorry!

[Help them? Scold them for not being more careful?]

Arrival

[Diarmuid has a million things on his mind at the moment and that is why he doesn't get out of the girl's way as his quick reflexes usually would let him do. Before he can even make sure she is okay, though, she is off again in a flash.

Well. Then. Why is the information given to him by the Grail supplying some saying about rubber children?

He shakes his head, but pauses when he catches sight of the fairy on her next pass around the room. That fairy sure looks familiar...]

Aideen, enough! Give the little one back what you took from her! Or else I really will feed you to Oscar, and he's a lot bigger now if you remember!

[Really! He can't take his eyes off those fairies of his for a second!]

[The fairy flutters to a halt. Frisk skids to a stop beside them and - realizing what's going on - holds out their hands with the faintest of pouts in the fairy's direction. Slowly, the stolen item, a locket is deposited into their hands. Quickly, they fumble to get it back around their neck, where it rests next to their court locket. Really they didn't even know how the fairy got it off in the first place!

There chest is still rising and falling a little more heavily than normal from all that running.]

[Aideen flutters over to sit on Diarmuid's shoulder, giving him a sad and apologetic look. He gives her a look that says they will talk later and then he turns his attention back to the little girl with the locket. His expression becomes a little worried when he sees how hard she is breathing. He makes his way over to her and kneels next to her, reaching up to put a gentle hand on her shoulder.]

Are you all right? Do you need a drink?

[Javik was not overly fond of children to begin with, and even less so when they ran around unsupervised and generally being... children. The fairies, to be honest, weren't much better. Worse still when they were put together.

Frisk bumping into him wasn't enough to trip him, but it did annoy him. He bared his teeth, and it didn't soften even when the child apologized.]

Reclaim what is yours, and do not be so careless as to lose it again.

[Frisk may be slightly startled by Javik's combined appearance and expression, but not more than a few moments. Honestly they thought he looked kind of cool.

But after that they're off again.]

[And they're not gonna if they don't try to keep up with that fairy!]

[Frisk's technique was terrible. At that rate, they'd just keep crashing into people.

Looking even more annoyed, Javik lifted his hand and let his biotic corona flare out, enveloping his body in green light. Closing his fist, he caught the fairy in a pull field, halting its movement entirely. Caught in that same green light, the fairy squeaked, helpless and unable to fly forward. Frisk would have no trouble extracting their stolen goods now, but Javik wouldn't hold it forever.]

[Thankfully Frisk isn't too slow, and as soon as they realize the fairy's suspended they rush forward, reaching to gently tug a locket from the fairy's grip.

And then, for good measure, they stick their tongue out at it as they refasten it around their neck.

And then they beat a hasty retreat, not wanting to stick around for a reprise. Their fingers are still tangled in the chain when they come around to the stranger who'd helped them, and they look up, smiling now.]

[As soon as the locket was free, Javik released the fairy, and the green glow faded. Confused and a little frightened, the fairy flew off. They were going to have to find someone else to prank, apparently.

Javik let his hand fall, and looked down at the child.]

I do not require your gratitude. As I said, do not be so careless in the future.
