David Nolan (Prince Charming) / OUAT / OTA
So while he may greet those who made contact with an easy smile and caring blue eyes. There was an urgency to him, one that had his fingers twisted around his locket while he explored the feast. He could not say who had done this Regina, Rumpelstiltskin or some other villain come to harm him and his family. What he did know, what showed in the strong line of his jaw, matched by the height of his confident shoulders.
He would find them, he would always find them.
Locket: [It had taken more than he was proud to admit to figure out the locket, cell phones he knew, magic mirrors he knew. Magic lockets were a new feat for the shepherd turned Prince. Once he figured it out, his message is simple, blunt, like the man.]
I am looking for my family, if any one can help please, I have nothing to give at this time but I will repay the kindness.
<3 I apologize in advance for her likely smacking then kissing him.
Because he had found her. As he always says he will. It doesn't entirely dull the ache of missing him the past nearly two years, of course. But regardless of that, she is barely aware of her legs moving as she makes her way to him, ignoring the crowd in the process of progressing to him. Without thinking, she calls out to him. Actually giving him some slight warning before her hand swings to smack at his chest brief seconds before her arms then wrap around him fiercely. Tightly. Savoring this at the same time as it worries her to have him here too.
"Charming....."
never apologize for her love, he fully expects and welcomes it <3
When her palm meets his chest his laughter is a man who has found the most important part of himself, clear and happy. His arms wrapping her and holding her tightly to his chest as she does him."Did you doubt I'd find you?" His tone is gentle, teasing, the slap he knows is born of her love and worry. Charming let's go of her with one arm, hand cupping her cheek in a tender caress, lips finding hers. For him it has only been moments, yet he kisses her deeply. The center of him settling the moment he feels the warmth. Finding her in a strange land so quickly is a stroke of pure luck, he knows. They always find each other, however it is not always this easy.
He made her wait nearly two years this time. At least it isn't a rock to the face.
The laughter might almost annoy her. But not really. Not enough for her to really mind beyond a brief look before he embraces her. Before she feels his lips on hers. Oh, she's missed him so much. Arms wrap around him tighter, fingers playing through his hair, the back of his neck before resting at his cheeks.
"Being here a lot longer than you has given me slight pause."
But part of her always half expected him to show up at the feasts. Ever since her own arrival. Because finding each other is what they do. Regardless of the situation, regardless of curses or worlds separating them.
He will be forever sorry for that; best rock to his face in his life. Knocked sense into him!
"I will always find you." His first instinct is to reassure her even as he smiles at words they have already spoken more than any couple should have to. He knows she knows this, he knows she believes it but his love for her makes this demand of him. Next he comes to something that worries him "When did you get here?" He had seen her only moments ago in Sherwood Forest where they were preparing to take back their home. Her words tell him that there is more here than he already knows.
Charming would never let anything stand in his way when it came to his family. Snow and him had fought for their life together and would continue to do so. Every battle was one he felt was worth it because every story had a Happy Ending and his was where ever Snow White was.
One could say that.
"When? It's....about two years, actually. Which I know might not necessarily add up for you. Timing can be....strange, here. Emma and Henry are here too. They're fine."
She hastens to tell and reassure him. At least Henry hasn't been here long enough to get into too much mischief yet. Or, not without either his mother or grandmother being there. All of this will be a lot to take in for him, so she isn't immediately launching into explaining just yet. Even this much is a start though. He possibly already had some basics covered by now even.
He would say that.
Charming believes her every word as he holds her there in the crowd, paying no heed to others around him, seeing only Snow. Yes, it all seems insane, it is all a lot to take in. Then again, it's magic, that's how it works. He has always been better with steel but that does not mean he doesn't understand magic and it's complications.
"Snow, I had no idea, I'd have fought to get here long..." Then it hits him, Emma and Henry. She said they are here, he had known it a possibility, had hoped for it. Now he knows it to be true and his heart soars even higher, they could all be together, whatever was coming it would be alright.
"Both of them, they're here?" His joy may seem a bit exuberant to her, depending what she last remembers of home. It has been days since they left the two behind in the Land Without Magic and yet his heart has been heavy and now it is completely lifted. Of course they were safe, Snow would protect their family, he never doubts her. Even when she may doubt herself.
"We can all be together now."

All they ever really wanted. Something so simple a wish. For a family to be together. But somehow, something keeps separating them, trying to force them apart somehow. It may have been a while, on Snow's end, but not anymore. Not this time. Now all four of them are together again. Sure, there are still some others that aren't here, but between them, they'll manage. Better than. She can't help the growing smile as she explains, as she reassures him. Because she wasn't sure if she might ever see either of them again either, her own last memories of home being watching the two of them drive away as the curse hit to send the rest of them back to the Enchanted Forest.

Another thing he knew, there was nothing that he would allow to stop him from staying with them now. If he went home, he was taking them with him. It did not matter if they were in the Enchanted Forest or Storybrooke as long as he was with them.
He knew they'd have to consider their friends, their family but if the experience was anything like his then they were not missing for the people they love. Charming shifts position, his arm slipping lovingly around his wife's waist as he finally takes in more of his surroundings.
"It's no Enchanted Forest but it'll do, I'll need to learn more but for the moment, let's just be glad we're all together." He knew he had to know the workings of this world, he knew Snow would fill him in but for a moment in time he wanted to tuck her against his side and look for their daughter and grandson. He wanted to hold his family and simply rejoice in knowing he could see their faces.

For now, surely it's okay to just savor this. Being together when the world and everyone keeps seeming to try tear them apart. In spite of the lingering danger and tensions. In spite of that they can't be sure just when they might make it back home. They're together. And together, they will figure it out. As a team. As they always have.

Charming's arm pulls from around her, fingers finding hers they fit together like a pair of gloves, perfectly. He flashes her a smile, eyes catching those near him as he keeps the air of absolute calm around him. Snow would not the wariness in his gaze, only Snow because she knows him.
"Show me around, can't have me getting lost my first day."

Because. Well, a lot of things have changed, more recently. She herself is still adjusting to all that, but she does have easy access to traveling with her own mount. That isn't an issue. But for starters, she simply heads to take him around the more immediate area, the food, the dancing, occasionally introducing him to some friends or others. Of course she notes the wariness in him, in his gaze and posture a little, though most might not be so observant in this where she just knows him that well.
"I missed you."

When he sees the dancing he pulls her up short, watching for a moment. That ache rising when she tells him she missed him, he leans toward her kissing her temple with deep affection. Charming releases her hand, he unclasps his cloak, draping it on a nearby chair. When done he flashes her that smile that has always been for her alone, the special nature of it lost on no one who sees it. The man bows to her as he offers her his palm up.
"Shall we?"
no subject
"Like you really need to ask."
Because oh, she had missed him. Had wanted nothing more than to enjoy last year's Samhain dancing with him. But now she can. And she does, taking the offered hand with a light laugh and a grin at her lips.

"It would be rude of me not to."
No matter his more regal dress and her more modern dress, they look elegant as they move. A perfect fit, she is royalty and he is the man who earned his place at her side. It is simple to slip into the more traditional steps as he takes her to the floor, arm bending behind his back, palm coming up to meet her own. Never do his eyes leave his wife's as he lets the music and the moment take away the confusion, worry, stress of arriving in another strange land.

Even if just for this moment, they could dance to the music and let the explanations come in a little while. To take the time to enjoy this and lose themselves in the sound and movement. Savor it.

As the music reaches the midway point he places his hands to her waist, lightly lifting her into the air. Turning, before placing her on the ground. Eyes taking back the look of love as he turns his thoughts to the dance, not the questions and answers that await him.

Sorry I'm late dad!!!
So for a moment she almost thinks it's her head playing tricks on her, when she sees familiar broad shoulders. Emma remembers plaid more than cloaks and velvet, though. She steers a little closer because she's a bit of a masochist. Those that remind her of home hurt, but it's better than none at all.
Her eyes widen when the figure turns, though. It stings to look at him, and for a moment she isn't sure it could be real. "David...?" She saw a projection of him in the crystal, but otherwise it's been months since she saw his face. That's a pretty long time, even if she's gone twenty eight not even knowing he excited.
Never too late daughter! :D
His daughter who he had days before left for the second time. An ache that courses through him every day. An ache that ignites hope at finding himself in another world. Because if he was here, she could be too. Then there is a voice, yes, it calls him David and not dad but that matters not. Charming turns to face her, the cloak moving easily with the motion. As comfortable in this garb as he was in the jeans and plaid. His eyes swim with emotion, tearing up as he looks at her face.
Lips smile as he rushes forward, no heed for the crowd, all he cares is to reach her. "Emma....." He thought he would never see her again. A fact he has been forcing himself to accept every second since they left her. Here she is and in his arms before she can protest. The man folds his daughter into a hug that can rival any papa bear.
"You're here..."

Even if it was easy to get lost in his embrace and pretend, for a little while.
Tears sparked at her eyes as she held onto him, almost unsure if she could believe it was actually happening. They'd gone so long on their own, after all. Could he really have managed to find them? The Drabwurld didn't work that way, he didn't realize how long they'd been gone. Emma, Henry, Snow, they weren't so lucky.
"Dad, how..." Her fingers curved into the meat of his shoulders, not wanting to let go but needing to look him in the eye at the same time. "When did you get here?"
no subject
It did not matter if it was days, weeks, months or years. It did not matter what land they were brought to. Emma could count that one way or another, he would find her. Yes, for a time he knew he was going to have to accept the Enchanted Forest and life without her but in his heart he was a man who never lost hope.
When she took his shoulders he smiled, eyes as sincere as one could be as they looked into his daughter's "Because I will always find you." That was what he did, he found his family. It had started with her mother, his wife and it would not end till he had his family all together. Charming took her face in his hands gently and kissed her forehead.
"I just got here and I'm not going anywhere again." He knew the pain in her and he would not push, he knew she would talk and say what she needed to in her own time. He knew to be patient with her while reminding her that he was here should she want or need him or a shoulder.
no subject
She relents a little at the smile, the familiar way he tries to reassure her. No matter how painful some of their memories tend to be, she can't deny it seems like he loves her in the way he treats her. She gives him a sad smile, trying to focus on the reality of his presence. It was harder than it sounded.
"It's not that easy. Sometimes people just go home, and there's no warning." So far she, Henry, and Snow have been trapped for quite some time. She just knows that it isn't impossible to go back home, whether you want to or not. "I haven't found any way to get us back. I'm looking, they just want to keep us here to fight their battle for them."
no subject
He does, for every mistake he has made Charming loves her deeply. He is proud of the woman she became even if he could not be there to help her along the way. She is amazing and no father could ask for a better daughter as far as he is concerned. He sees her relent even a little and it warms his heart. The world was so hard on her, he wishes he could take more of the burden, though he knows he can't.
"It's never easy but there's always a way." He stays close keeping contact with her, offering comfort as he regrets every moment he has not been here. Once again, he has failed her and all he can think is how can he possibly make it up, how can he make it right. "Well, they didn't realize who they picked, if anyone can change this. It's you and our family. We never give up." He means it, he believes in her, if there is a way home for all of them Emma will find it and he will be right there with her looking.

She shakes her head, shaking off the negative thoughts that aren't going to help her right now. She finally pulls back from his embrace, a necessary detachment, even though she's incredibly happy to see him.
"Henry and Mary Margaret are here too. I'm not sure where right now, but somewhere." It was funny how they'd managed to all find each other. Maybe it was the Charming way after all. The tip of her tongue seems weighted, wanting to ask if anyone had come with him... Maybe someone with a dashing amount of leather and more eyeliner than he possibly needed... but she manages to resist.

He aches at her pulling back, he also knows why she does it. He knows Emma and Charming does not push. They have a bond but there are still things to be worked through, twenty eight years leaves a lot of baggage.
"Of course they are." His smile is wide, it says he is thinking exactly what she is thinking. They would always find each other, sure he may have been the last to arrive but that was not the point. The point was, they were all here now, together. He can see it in her eyes, the desire to ask something and he gives the softest of nudges.
"What is it Emma?"
